the owner of snow performance ( the water/meth kit i use ) told me he'd love to sell me boost juice but for much cheaper he told me through emails to use washerfluid and a bottle of yellow heet for the same effect. been using it for 40k miles now that way

I have yet to install my meth kit.. But anyone and everyone I talk to says methyl hydrate mix 50/50 works good.. Washer fluid works great if you are down at the track and run out but I hear it doesn't work aaasss good as the actual stuff.. Boost juice... It's more expensive but if U have the cash and wanna go that route that's your call.. The methyl hydrate is probably closest to the best and the cheapest.
Cavfire.. Where are you getting tuned?

Well they got 232hp or so out of my friends cav on the stock pulley and no intercooling what so ever.
He has a completely stock motor aside from LZM cams and a balance shaft delete kit, L61 Pacesetter header and exhaust.
Not bad numbers considering.
He is going to install a 2.8 ring and be intercooled along with a LSJ pacesetter so the numbers should rise alot.

if there is any slight bit of detonation at those sorts of boost levels in a 2.2l, its going to break a piston. i found with the 2.2l with a turbo it was happy with 8psi, keeping the timing decent and shooting for 11.5:1afr. 10psi, got a touch of knock, popped a piston. tried again, richening it up a touch and less timing, ran 10-12psi fine, but it didnt have any more power than 8psi. when the gm build book says the 2.2l can withstand 250hp on stock pistons, i believe it, thats around what it was putting out.
id save yourselves a cylinder head and either toss a set of pistons into it or keep the boost down. when it does break a pistons (with a 2.8 pulley its when, not if) it will trash the head. trust me, ive got 4 of them in my basement that are scrap because of broken pistons.

Oh I ully believe you. I wont be doing it anytime soon if ever. I may not bother and buy a lnf instead.
I may jut get a 3" pulley and call it good for a dd. The limits of the 2.2 bother me without having to build it.
And im frankly paranoid about getting a crap rebuild from a machine shop that doesnt know how to build these motors correctly.
I have a spare block just sitting here.
