2008 Cobalt SS (project) - SOLD
I purchased this as a project car from the Ford dealer a few months back, but we decided that it's too fast and would rather have a different car for a new teen driver. I know fixed they are worth more, but frankly have too many projects to deal with yet another one.
What we've done so far:
- steam cleaned seats
- steam cleaned carpet
- changed oil and cabin air filters
- replaced wipers
- new Costco car cover
- rotated the tires (all 4 are nearly new)
- checked the brakes (plenty left)
- looks like the coolant was changed as it is very clean and we found a thermostat in the car (no coolant in oil or vice versa)
- scanned the engine codes
- purchased 2 new uncut Strattec GM keys
What it needs:
- car gets hot when driving (haven't driven it enough to get too hot, but it does get 200+ and shut if off promptly)
- discovered recently that no heat is produced - a local Cobalt SS owner thought it might be the actuator or the thermostat is bad/wasn't replaced as I thought
- showing engine codes (P0243 and P0030), P0243 is Wastegate solenoid - 0030 is likely linked to heating issue
- shifter boot
- chrome is peeling from door handles
- carpet has been cleaned but a hole was warn in driver mat and floor
- spare tire is toast - needs replaced
- rear seat hole
- driver seat rip
- 5th gear is a bit "sticky" going in - forum searching said a bent pin is common problem for that (comes out fine - local Cobalt guy thought that seemed right when driving it)
- sunroof bezel
- hole in rear bumper cover
- car could use another interior cleaning and exterior buff to look better
Tired of CL crazies - lowered to $2800 (firm)
