Last and FINAL drop. I have a Cobalt SS turbo for sale that is in great condition. The reason for selling is because of school. It is custom HP tuned to 24 psi. Some mods include, Stance GR+ Coilovers, zzp catless downpipe, Dejon charge piping with hks bov, Hahn cold air intake, and also a Treadstone tr10 Intercooler. Also newly installed is a clutch-Master clutch and performance flywheel pretty much brand new has less that 800 miles on it. I didn't mention allot of small things just ask. Exterior is 8/10 and so is interior.
The car is very quick and will surprise ALLOT of people. It is also a head turner, every where I go I get compliments. These cars are sketchy enough with clean titles. You're going to have a hard time getting any decent amount of money for a salvage title. I love the color though. Good luck.

Its great the OP loves his car, but the lack of info and refusal to say why it is salvage makes this car a sketchy buy.

Sorry to reply so late, I'm a nursing student and I'm busy all the time with clinical. If the post is not entirely informative it is because it is the same template used on my craigslist account, which has most of the other information. Again didn't really have time to be detailed. Did this during my lunch break. Now to answer some questions, the car is salvage because it had flood damage from a previous owner. He actually made a thread in this site regarding the entire process he went through. Pictures included, which I also have on hand. I haven't had a single issue with the car both mechanical and electrical. I was also very questionable over the car, back when I first bought it in 2011. But it's been really good to me. Only problem I had was the stock clutch, but that went out because of the added power from the tune. The milage of the car is 75,356 miles exactly. I hardly drive it now because I carpool with other nursing students. As for the people that say the car should sell for 5k, that is ridiculously low. The market here in Texas has prices set as the following:
Clean/low miles/ cobalt supercharger: 5,000k-6,000k
Clean/high miles/ SC: 3500k-4500k
Clean/low miles/ turbocharge: 11k-13k
Clean/high miles/TC: 8500-10k
My car is priced based on both the market in my area and a dealership quote.
A good friend of mine that is a manager for a Hyundai dealership in Austin was kind enough to inspect the car and gave me quote of that exact price. In their store they would set the cars price at 9k that way they could have a deviant of approximately 1,000-1500 less of the asking price, depending on the buyer.
At the start back in Dec, I put the cars price at around 11k just to test waters. I gradually decreased the price monthly. The price the car has now is set and final, again based on what I've done research and been informed on. If I traded the car I would get 8k in trade in value but I don't want a car. Also if by writing "last and final drop" makes the car questionable, let me reassure you that I've only had one person see the car and was willing to take it for 8500, that was last weekend. We even went to his bank but he had problems with his house payments that resulted in him having credit issues. The car drives perfectly fine with no issues at all, but again this day of age it is difficult to take someone's word, so I don't blame them for thinking other wise. The best way to see how well the car runs is to drive it, which I am willing to let the potential buyer do what he wishes. They could even take it to their trusted mechanic if they wish. What does self-hyping and having different brands of parts have to do with it being illusive? It's not like they are ebay parts, Dejon, Hahn, ZZP, Stance, HPtuners, and Clutchmaster are ALL reputable brands across Cobalt owners and in this site. Well except Dejon which is not available anymore.
As for the "hyping" is because this template was used on craigslist. Allot of people out there don't even know these cars even existed with turbochargers from stock, and on top of everything they don't even know the potential they have. So that's why I'm "hyping" so they understand its not just your typical base model/ supercharger..

 

Just some advice:
1. Know your audience. You've already touched on this in your explanation, but just remember where you are. Cobaltss.net isn't the most forgiving site for this kind of thing. Everything you write is going to get scrutinized severely, which you've now seen.

2. Those prices you quote from kbb.com are assuming a clean title. Even though the car may run perfectly, there are still other ramifications to having a salvage title. I can't list them all or just how they impact insurance, etc. because I've never had one nor tried. I just know it's a red flag if/when I buy a car and I certainly would need to get it for a rock-bottom price even if it appears totally sound.

3. A car is worth what someone will pay for it. If someone will pay $8500 great, but you may have to wait for another to come around. Saying "last and FINAL drop" is a turnoff. You can say firm, but just realize you may have to wait.

4. Not sure why you list coilovers in your mods and then say your price doesn't include them. That's weird.

Good luck. I'm all for people getting what they deserve for a car. It's just that when the car is salvage you've got to be cautious on both the seller's side and the buyer's side.

Considering my non salvage title Cobalt with 20k more miles, same year is worth 7500 in excellent condition...thats worth about 4k.

 

It really is hard to believe that a dealer offered $8k for a salvage trade-in.

 

Yeah, I agree with everyone else, dude. Seeing all of the cars that get listed on here--if the car had a clean title, I doubt you'd have any problem with getting the $7,500 you want. Maybe even with the salvage title you'd be able to get something near that if the miles were a lot lower (like 30k-40k). But as it stands, I wish you good luck getting that much money for it and I'm currently in the market for one.

75k miles isn't terribly high but it's up there. KBB has it listed for about $8,500 in very good condition with those miles but if you look under the KBB FAQ, it says that the general rule of thumb for salvage cars is to subtract 30-40% of the value which is around $5-5.5k and I think you'll have trouble getting even that much because it's modded. Hell, if you say a dealership will give you $8k...I'd say that you didn't tell them it has a salvage title. Same goes for the guy you said almost bought it for $8,500. But if you did tell them and they're still willing to spend that type of money, JUMP ON IT because I don't see you getting anywhere near that here.

Salvage titles are seriously the worst red flag you could have and people know that. Not many people want to throw away thousands of dollars for a car that may or may not be reliable in the long run. With that being said, good luck, dude.

You are absolutely right on everything you just stated. This post was just a quick and simple thing that I used because of time restrains. This is my first time posting something to sell on this forum, and if there is a next time I will make sure to make it much clearer and informative from the start. On the topic of the coils, my first intention from the beginning was to sell the car as a whole. Throughout these couple of weeks I ended up putting the option of letting the car go for a lesser value without coils. Surprisingly I have gotten allot more leads because of this. It seems like allot of people don’t live on the best streets these days, and rather have the stock suspension haha. But yes, thank you for your feedback and for not being rude or obnoxious about it. I hope to find the right seller, with what I want

 

I'm pricing based on what the market is currently around my area and how the vehicles are going for. The car was quoted for that amount in trade in value, with the salvage title. It ranges from city to city. For example in Houston I got quoted 6k in trade in. In San Antonio it was 7k. I don't mind members coming on here and placing their own opinion on the car, especially with the uninformative post I made from the start. I just find it find it rude and distasteful that you come on my post and start making price judgments on my car. It not like I'm going to your for sale threat and criticizing your vehicle.
