Well I pulled the trigger & picked up a '09 GTI 2 door in United Gray w/6 speed manual & the only option was the mat kit (which I wanted) today

i have no idea, ive seen them before but never paid much attention. i have some nice plans for the car coming soon.. painting all the badges black and im geting my hood and roof vinyld black

Yeah I saw on ebay that there were black badges, but they were for the MKIV though....I thought black badges would look sweet on this car.
Never thought about just painting them though

As for the vinyl....there was a car on ebay the other day that had what you're talking about on the hood (with the small red stripe on the sides) to match the GTI front end/grille.....is that what you're talking about doing??

First cheap mod I'm doing is getting some clear bumper lights ($40).....then I'll get it tinted & then probably swap my stereo into the car too

yeah no luck lol ive decided to keep it and just do suspension mods. f the engine mods its still gonna be slow after all the bolt-ons/chip. so im going to just make it look nice

Got a question for you: what do you think would look better on the UG....smoked bumper lenses or the clear bumper lenses??
I'm really torn between which one would look better.

What suspension mods are you gonna do???

I noticed the new AWE R32 style exhaust (looks bad ass), but it'd be crazy expensive since you gotta buy the R32 bumper to go with it too:

Guess I'll go with the Corsa or the Borla....don't know if I'll get it this year or not though.

Trying to do some reading up on the noise delete pipe thing (Tiguan pipe) & also about the Forge spacer (instead of a new DV).
And then still thinking about doing the tint.

You know what the car looks like, but here's a couple pics of my GTI:

 

nice looks exactly like mine. except i have tint and eyelids. im not gonna get a catback, im waiting til apr releases a DP and im just gonna run a catless dp. def gonna either get vmaxx coils from my buddy for $300 used only 1 year or some eibach sportlines.

go with the smoked! im blacking out the emblems, sidemarkers and tails.. when u do the sidemarkers take out the little bulb. there useless anyway

it looks like ur front end is higher than the rear, look to see if u have the spacers in between the front springs if so take them out it will look better and there just for shipping purposes only.

 

Hmmm...if you're going to take out the light bulbs for the sidemarkers....why not just get them color matched??? (they look sweet color matched!!!)

I'm gonna go with the clear markers though....I saw some pics of them on UG & they look hot. I like how they match the clear mirror signals too (I'm not gonna change those--leaving them clear).

As for the front springs....yeah it was sitting even higher than that & then I finally looked up in there & saw the rubber spacers & called the dealer wondering why they didn't take them out.

That pic was right after I took them out. It settled a little bit more after I took them out though & looks better now.


So for my small first mods....I'm looking at getting:
-clear side markers
-motor mount insert
-the Tiguan pipe to delete the noise box
-possibly a DV spacer just to see how it sounds & if I'd get sick of it (pick one up used or something)

 

One more thing....

What % tint do you have on your car??

I was up in the air between 35% all the way around OR 20% in the back 3 windows & 35% on the side windows (which is illegal here in Michigan anyways)

Put on my Tiguan pipe (to delete the noisemaker pipe) & my clear bumper lights. The motor mount insert was supposed to go in, but it DIDN'T FIT They changed the motor mounts from before.

I'm really craving a boost gauge & the BSH tap for the TSI, but that's like $230 right there. Thinking about going with the AWE vent pod if I do get one.
