2009 Cobalt SS (write off)
This is 1white's old car.
I am in absolutley no rush to sell, but at the same time, I really have too many cars (three pairs of cars, or six in total);
All but my dd Cobalt needs varing ammounts of work, and although there is room to make money from rebuilding the white Cobalt - there is also room for either savings (if you need some more expensive parts), or money to be made should you do a full part-out.
Background on this car
This is a 2009 Cobalt SS, ordered by 1white with:
-sunroof
-Limited Slip Differential
This is an early 2009 model year (Canadian destination) Cobalt SS, as such the RPD was unavailable - and aside from the USB, he ordered the car loaded.
The car has roughly 35,000km's, and should be a good runner;
I say should because the BCM is currently locking out the ignition, as well as all other subsystems as a result of the accident - I do not currently have access to a TechII to determine if the BCM needs to be replaced, or if this can be unlocked.
No airbags have deployed.
1white tells me he was taking an onramp to a highway when he spun out, and was swiped by a gravel truck;
The truck made contact with the rear passenger quarter panel;
virtually everything behind the rear 'firewall' is destroyed beyond repair;
For reasons unbeknownst to myself, this car was never officially written off, and never paid out.
During disassembly/cleaning I found a wrinkle in the passenger side floor under the rear seat - so this car would either need to have a whole new shell, or need to be back-halfed (meaning everything behind the doors replaced from a donor car ect)
Although I believe the rear axle to still be true, it's a tough call because the missing/mangled sheetmetal makes it hard to gauge if for sure the passenger hub is out of alignment.
Aside from the tail light wiring, all wiring is in tact, and I have (since buying hte car) cleaned it up, replaced all missing components, and hooked up a battery - the DIC lights up, and I can see nothing which would indicate that this car has any fuel/electrical issues.
I bought the car less the following:
-Wheels
-front seats
-grilles
-(passenger side) dash SS emblem
-rear badging
-fog lamps
-ecm
The door panels were also extensively damaged, and deemed by myself to be unsalvageable.
The car came with a set of (damaged) retrofit HIDs, with rusty ballasts
I found a donor car in Winnipeg Manitoba (Canada) which I bought the complete ebony interior and swapped that in (this car had the ebony/grey interior);
I have since replaced the ECM.
I currently have an upper grille from a 2007 SS/SC, and lower grilles from both 2007 SS/2.4, as well as a correct lower grille.
I replaced the retros with a stock set of headlights (but do not at this time have the headlamp wiring).
I do not at this time have a set of wheels I would be selling the car with.
The car is located in Calgary, Alberta.
Please only contact me if you're serious about buying either the whole car, or (one or both of the) engine/transmission.
Thank you for your interest.

you missed nothing;
I'd rather only talk about that with someone seriously interested in buying the car...
No offense, but odds are, this is not going to happen.
I have sourced missing key components should I (or someone else) decide to rebuild the car - so parting out would be self defeating;
there is still room (considering the mileage and year) to make money on rebuilding this car.
