Trade In value

Went to dodge dealer yesterday to see what i can get for a trade in for the new srt caliber...giving me 9,500 for my car..has 34k and 9500?am i bein screwed here or is that an actual value for my car..i visited kbb.com and it says 13,700..

im guessin they probably rated my car as an 05 ls cobalt with leather seats since thats what kbb is giving for the ls,not ss/sc

You will never get a good price for your car on a trade in. Sell it on your own.

Nope cause a cobalt with 12,000 miles on it goes for about 12 or 13 grand

dealer will always low ball you. always. but if your'e expecting to get near blue book for a cobalt, it's not going to happen. cobalts have a **** trade in value, and low resale value in general. i bought my 05 with 15,000 miles for $15,000.

They low ball you so that they can turn around and sell your car for 5-10k more. Dealerships make more money on used cars then they do on new cars.

not on cobalts they don't. resale is so bad on them that they probably don't make much money at all.

I got offered 21k as trade for my car, and thats after I would have pulled the mods off of it. Think they only offered another 1k if I kept all the mods on.

And before you ask, I was looking at a used '08 Vette with around 4k miles on it for $42k (fully loaded, new was ~$60k). It's really nice, but an auto. Any local guys interested they have it at Friendly Chevy.
