Want to trade into the ss/sc world (srt-4 offered)

I doubt anyone here is interested but just in case, I am looking to trade my silver 2004 SRT-4 for a Cobalt ss/sc, it is nicely modded and unabused and I am looking for a straight up trade on a ss/sc.

I grew addicted to my Cavalier (still have it and drive it constantly despite the power difference), I love my srt, thing is sick fast but I really wish I had gotten a Cobalt, I don't know what it is but every single time I see one I get envious, despite the fact that, and please don't take offense at this, I have a signifigant amount more power than most.

The picking up someone elses work thing seems to be dropping dramatically too, I don't know anyone anymore that claims someone elses work as their own, 5 years ago every other guy with a modded car had bought it off e-bay completed and claimed it as their own hard work, unfortunatly I have a freind with a nice stage 2 ss/sc who wants an srt-4 but he won't trade because the only thing left to be done to my car is go big turbo and he wants to do the work from scratch for pride reasons. Guy buys junkers and does full restores to sell them but won't even consider buying a partial restoration because he can't say he did it, blows my mind. I get the not wanting to take credit for someone elses work but if no one else knows whats the harm, I can keep my mouth shut, of course he knows everyone I know and lives in the same neighborhood, thus the need to post for a trade.

haha...yea...but cars that i don't know anything about i prefer doing the work myself because it gets me acquainted with the internals and where things go an connect and helps me know the car more.....its not just the fact that claiming someone elses work is stupid....and i know the SRT-4's have a considerable more amount of hp when modded plus there is more out for them but my lil bumble bee is a speedy little thing and i did everything on it and even tho you may beat me, i know its all in good fun an comes with the territory, and i still have my pride cuz the car is exactly the way i want it.....plus i still owe on mine an i gotta pay it off...i think i only owe like 16k tho...thats down from 24k when i bought it 2 yrs ago

hit up CobaltVenomSS.......he's got a pretty nice SS/SC, and I know he's always talking about wanting an SRT-4.

btw, I see you live in Manassas VA. I'm only about 15 min away in Gainesville. You'd probally recognize my car if you saw it, and maybe vice versa. Any pics of your SRT-4?

An insane and nearly fatal accident later I vowed never to race again, I am not saying that I have not gone wide open throttle on the car, thats ridiculous but I have not raced the car or driven it like I stole it.

the craigslist link has photos, though the car changes quite often, I have a rare stainless steel perforated hood from grip tunning that I put on and I frequently take off and put on the spoiler depending on my mood and I recently switched back to the powdercoated stock rims, I have seen a real nice white wingless cobalt zipping around Gainesville by 29/66, if thats you its a nice one.

I go to the burger king meets on 28 next to the manassas airport, they do muscle cars till around 8pm then imports after that every saturday, I have lots of freinds with classics and hot rods so I usually hang out till 9 or 10 then head home, just long enough to hang with my freinds then a few other srt owners, most of the Honda/Mitsubishi owners are asses so I leave when they get there.

I may be mistaken but I believe the only white SRT's are the ACR ones and they are hard as hell to find, I tried to get one when I was shopping but they sell for way more than a non-limited edition srt, I did find a white one at a good price but it was painted aftermarket, that seemed real fishy to me to paint your car that has light metal flake paint with an ordinary white, turned out to have a salvage title.

Word. I used to go to the BK meets, but the Chic meets are much bigger and cater more towards the sport compact crowd than the BK meets do. But ****, maybe i'll come out to BK one night. Just let me know when you'll be there and i'll come out.

Maybe he just wants a Cobalt. I sold a much faster car ('97 E36 M3 w/ several Dinan upgrades) to buy my Cobalt.

It's just preference.I like my SC but I would rather have an SRT-4 because a 4 door would be better for me.

I have witnessed a few races between srt's and Cobalts, really honestly no offence meant but they don't really compare power-wise, of course I have yet to see a bone stock srt and just a few bolt ons increase the power by quite a lot. For me its a styling issue, I think Cobalts look better, I have a love affair with my '01 cavalier coupe and I vastly preffer the 2 door coupe to the four door srt, my wifes minivan is for taking the kids around so I have no need for four doors, BUT I am not willing to trade the car in for a car that is too big a performance hit, I have gotten used to the power, I don't always use it but I like to know its there. If it was an issue of being beaten in a race I would buy a larger turbo and fuel kit for $1500 off modern performance and nothing short of a $50,000 dollar car would touch me, that gets you into the 400+ hp range with low curb weight, I have a freind with one and NOTHING touches that car.

I've got $17,500 left to pay on the car, with 32,000 miles, Corsa exhaust, CAI, Sunroof, brand new tires, Hurst short throw shifter, smoked out taillights, pretty much stock. If you want to take over the payments you can have it. Reason I dont want it is I can't afford payments and insurance with school payments, plus I bought a bike to get from here and there so no need for a fast car anymore. And I just got my vehicle tax for that ****, over 600 bucks wont be dealin with that.

Im sure that was directed at the OP, but I used to ride up with my friend/co-worker to East Coast Boost meetings in his WRX all the time. Im no longer friends with the guy though, so I haven't been out to an ECB meeting in a while....

No I am not, I have a hectic schedule, 2 jobs, 2 kids and an infirm father, I have never found the time to go to one of their meets, I have met some members who said I should join but I just don't have the time to join an actual club, I am a regular at ************** and know several other srt owners, I try to make it to the local track and big meets at RIR and MIR when I can to spectate but that is unfortunately rare, that is as far into the scene as I go.

if I actually sell the car I will look into taking over payments but I can't afford an extra car, the srt taxes aren't too much less than yours and if I show up at home with another car without getting rid of one at the same time my wife will strangle me to death, I already have too many as it is.

Probally. My friend's WRX was a blue '06. But before that he had a red SRT-4 w/ a Hahn turbo upgrade, big ass FMIC, Borla straight pipes, Eibach pro-kit springs, 18" silver Kazera KZ-7 wheels.......etc etc.

Here is a pic of the car with the stainless steel perforated hood on it, I switched it out when I got to home. I am going to try and make some of the local car meets so anyone interested can see it if they want to, this friday I will try and bring it up to the dulles chik fil a.
