So this thing has a salvage title then?
Oh and the reason the labor was 4k was because the front support would have to be pulled back to it's location. Which using that machine and doing it correct takes a lot of time. I don't think i'd consider this car safe after pulling the front support that far back out. It would be twice as weak the next time.

I say lift that hood as much as you can and lets get a shot of that motor and support to see exactly what we would be working with. A lot can be hid under that kind of damage.
Oh and I'm not just trolling, I'm an ASE certified body repair man and painter. I have done this for 10 years now. Just want to get everything out there for who ever may be interested in this.

I will get pics of it when the car gets back to my house. The lower trans mounts are ttr solid mounts which are fine. The motor mount did crack on the back side from the impact. But I think it cracked from the impact. Driver trans mount is ok. An subframe ok. Car does have salvage title.
wow, how fast were you traveling to crack the back side of an engine mount? If i was guessing you were between 45-55mph.
that kind of goes a long with what i was saying from the start. The initial impact was the front bumper support, but that force of inertia travels further than you might suspect. Especially on these uni-body designs. So there was enough force to travel through that passenger frame member that holds the engine mount and between that force and the engine being moved in that direction. It was enough to crack that mount. I know you say the engine is good, but to me if it moved enough at such a fast rate to crack the main engine mount, then I'd think maybe something in that engine might be bad due to force.
Now I'm not going to say that you are shady or dumb, but i will say i don't think you quite understand how this all works and the effects that take place.
Like i said.... with the amount of unknowns and now more info is being brought up by you once asked(cracked engine mount). I still stick with the 3,000 mark or part it out for probably more. I guess what kills me is the insurance covered it all. So now what you get is going to be in your pocket...correct? Well don't let greed take over the reality of the situation. Be happy that you are going to get a profit now out of something you did wrong. I look forward to seeing under the hood, and if you can take some shots under the motor..oil pan and trans area of the K frame. I'm sure interested parties would greatly appreciate that.

I do understand how it works I am a ase certified an gm certified mechanic. I work at a chevy dealership. I just don't have the time to fix it or part the car out. The engine is ok I drove the car away from the wreck. I am not a body man but I can assure you the drive train is fine. I was traveling 35 when I hit the car. My car is just very low causing all the damage to go upward.
Ok since there are no real interest the car is going to be parted out. Watch in parts for my partout thread. It will be probably in about two weeks after I take apart the whole car an try to sell the big stuff locally. I hate dealing with shipping but will if I cant sell everything locally.
thats crazy that no1 jumped on this.. even with a salvaged title, you could fix this up, part it out, an still make some nice money out of it... I would anyway if I had some extra money around
anyways tho... I'm in for the partout
