WTT: 1980 Camaro Z28 350 Muncie 4-speed, Maryland

Looking for any type of bike, SS, cruiser, custom, drag bike, supermoto (especially want this), dirt bike, shoot me an offer. May consider other old cars as well (Chevy or Pontiac especially), even a project since I'm a welder and a mechanic, but no basket case. I'm looking for something cool, something a little crazy. I love the fast, the wild, the bizarre, the custom, the get-you-noticed and "WTF, is that legal?" kind of stuff.

The car is an original 1980 Camaro Z28, VIN confirmed. The motor is peppy, last owner claimed it had been rebuilt. The last owner claimed the transmission has been rebuilt as well, I went under the car and there is zero rust or sludge on it, looks brand new. I get a lot of compliments on this car, especially the exhaust note.

The motor:
Edelbrock 4-barrel square-bore carburetor
1/2" carb spacer
Older headers (surface rust, but still good and sound nice)
Edelbrock AirGap intake
Cam (last owner put it in, obviously larger, hiccups a bit but over 2000RPMs it really picks up)
Original 620 heads
Lots of good looking chrome stuff and yellow plug wire covers, looks nice under the hood
I have not been in this motor. It ran like a champ since I bought it last summer and has pretty good power, nothing spectacular but for a street car it gets up and goes. Will outrun the Honda and stock Mustang at the red light. A truly great driver car.

Drivetrain:
Muncie M21 aluminum-cased (no, I'm NOT lying, I have checked all the numbers it is a REAL '65-'67 aluminum-cased M21)!
4.10 rear gears
The transmission shifts excellently, it has obviously been rebuilt. The synchros are smooth and even downshifting into first is easy. Last owner rebuilt the transmission, makes a whining noise so it's possible that it has M22 internals or it could just be from the high rear gears. The 4.10s really bring the acceleration of this car alive, runs through the gears quickly and is not the best highway car. But definitely makes up for it with some nice performance.

The interior:
Everything here is usable as is, but for the true perfectionist it would need some things. The driver seat has some tears, could use new foam and cover. Speedometer does not work due to transmission swap (have speedometer cable for Muncie, will include). Driver's side arm rest will not mount (screw hole was stripped) but I do have it. No radio bracket, but I do have an aftermarket radio I will include (either Pioneer or Kenwood CD player, also has aftermarket speakers behind rear seat). Has an old Hurst t-handle and Hurst chrome shifter. There is a short somewhere to the original tachometer, but there is a fully functional column-mounted Autogage tachometer that has a background light. Horn is there, but wires are not hooked up (I just rev at people instead of beeping, it sounds much cooler).

The bad:
The paint is pretty nice from 20 feet and has metal flake in it, but get closer and there are some surface rust spots
The wheels are off of a 3rd-generation Z28, but I have the original wheels painted to match the car if desired
Trunk spring is weak and the lid has to be held up
No heat or A/C, but heater wore is there
Chin strap piece of the front ground effects is missing, do not have it
Had a power steering leak, I replaced the faulty line with a custom-made steel-lined hose with removable adapters (cost me over $100 to have it made, it can withstand up to 22,000psi), if it leaks it must be snowing in hell!

This car is currently tagged and driven once or twice every couple of weeks to local shows or to Starbucks. A very fun driver, it's not every day you come across a true Muncie M21 and that transmission just makes this car that much more fun to drive. A good as-is driver or drive-as-you-restore project and just a blast to go around town in. I get compliments and waves whenever I drive this car and I have met all kinds of interesting people. I hate to part with it but I am looking for something new, I go through my toys very quickly and always like to have another one!
