lmao it gets its power from the car so no dead batteries when you power up on level 2! jk but yeah don't have to worry about batteries because there's 2 cables that connect to it(they're ran through the dash so it you don't have a crap-load of ugly wires dangling down your dash. It's wired into your car, that's how it works...it's not wireless. I had never seen anything like it before and wanted something that made people say WTF is that really a gameboy datalogging on his dash??! but it's also a really badass tool, doesn't just look cool

Thanks man, yeah if the TC had an electric blue option I would have had one a LONG time ago lol the darker blue looks good though, nice car man. kyle4236 It's called the TurboXS Dtec, pretty much all you do is wire it into your car and start datalogging and tuning and whatever you need to do. I had a guy in Houston fine tune it for me, he pulled and added fuel how it needed and after that the car ran like a bat out of hell. I think it's available for other cars besides the SRT-4, but I haven't seen one for the Cobalt the coolest thing i've seen for the balt is the PLX Kiwi Wifi OBDII Monitor that lets you see how your engine is running and clear codes wirelessly with your apple iphone and ipod touch. But it plugs into the OBD2 port, so if you run a scangauge then you wouldn't be able to use it unless you unplugged your scangauge...I think

I feel the same way about finding a black one, let's hope tomorrow is the day, but GLWT and nice SRT-4... my dad's a huge Dodge guy, he'd drool lol. I've looked at SRT-4's as an option, but I really love my Cobalt, just want to upgrade to a TC. GL again, I'm interested in seeing the mods you put into your future TC. Always fun and exciting!

Baron7700 no i'm looking more at a low mileage TC. Doesn't matter how much i'm throwing on top, i'm throwing down enough to make it a fair trade so I really don't see why people are STILL talking about the whole SC TC "your car is older" bullshit. Go spend your afternoons somewhere else. madmark you're awesome man, I appreciate you helping me out when my account wouldn't work. And yeah I see what you were talking about now! gotboost?17 you have pm. cmiller8006 thanks and apparently you're right. This forum is looking more like a honda ricer forum than an american tuner forum.
Whoa..BTW..nice car..very nice. Always admired the SRTs. Here's the deal as far as I *see* it (I'm a TC owner). I don't think you'll ever make this *happen*. A TC owner isn't gonna *go retro* especially with a much older higher milage car..which yours surely will be. The cash *on top* is really a non issue here...I just don't see any TC owner (read *new car*) making a move like this for obvious reasons. BTW, they also have their WARRANTY in place to boot.
GLWS...but I would just keep it and enjoy.

Maybe I just didn't read this, but how much are you willing to pay "on top"? This may be something you are only willing to share through pm's with a potential trader. I figured maybe stating this will cut down the number of comments about how the cobalt is "worth more and newer" if you do indeed plan on offering a good amount "on top". If you are looking for a pretty close to a straight up trade, meaning less then $2k on top, I think the only cars you are going to get are beat to hell cobalts or ones that are still being payed off with a good majority left to pay. Have you thought about finding a used ss/tc at a dealer and trading your car towards it? You do have to understand there are a lot more people looking for a lower mileage and closer to stock srt4 then a fully bolted one. 95% of the time performance mods hurt the resale value of a car. Good luck with the trade/sale!

Exactly...I was going to point that out myself. That's probably the only way he'll get a trade up.

Thanks for the comments about the car. And the trade is going to *happen* because i've already had a few people that want to trade *right now*...the only reason i'm not in one yet is because i'm on vacation and won't be able to make a trade until I get back next week. Already had 3 guys with black and one guy with silver interested in trading. Every person on this forum has their own *OPINION* that they have their hearts set on stating, and that's ok...but useless. Hell no i'm not going to trade my car in, those guys at the dealer will lowball me worse than the people on these forums do. Yes the cash *on top* is a pm question-i'm going to be putting enough on top to make it a fair trade, and that's all that needs to be said. BTW ronn, the only *non-issue* here is your opinion in this matter. Thanks. This thread is up to 4 useless pages now because guys think other people give a **** about their *OPINIONS*

Ok..I'm really interested to see if this actually *happens*....and we're not seeing a bunch of BS being thrown around. So far it's all *talk* to me..nothing more. Post the results *if*..*when*... this deal goes down..then we can all say that we were F**KN flat out wrong (ie, no Dealer involved). Till then..it's BS in my book (not your BS...potential buyer BS).
Again..GLWS.

<soapbox_mode>

Actually, the 2003-2004 SRT4 came with 7/70 powertrain warranty. So provided mileage is <70K, hasn't been to an asshat dealer for service, or otherwise in for a warranty repair caused by a mod......it won't have a restriction, and would still have warranty.

I got my 2004 E-Blue new in 6/04 (it's now full S3, supporting mods, coilovers, etc) and had a 2008 SS/TC for about a year concurrently; so I've had and experienced both. What's happening with the nSRT4 right now (and will likely happen with the SS in a couple years), the VAST majority of them have had multiple owners, multiple iterations of modifications, tenuous history.......and are generally beatup. These sell cheap, and bring down the "average sale price" which the valuators (NADA, KBB, etc) report to the public. Then......every so often when a clean unit pops up for sale, all the lowballers point at how cheap other cars are selling for, and expect to get a clean car for beater money.

I've had, on multiple occasion, people approach me to buy my skittle -- which aside from about 8k in either MOPAR or carefully chosen / well engineered hardware upgrades, is in showroom condition -- but end up wasting my time because they ultimately think they're gonna offer / buy my car for no more than what some stupid website says returned-to-stock, beatup POS's are selling for. So I've told them, kindly, to go buy a junkwagon.

</soapbox_mode>

IMHO, if someone's done some quality upgrades and kept their car in mint condition.....it should be worth more than average. When I look for used cars and bikes, that's how I look at it. Sorry for the hijack, but if nothing else, it's a free bump.

I could actually see this happening to be honest. There are a few people who just genuinely don't like their SS's and would prefer something like the SRT-4.

I think you guys should stop ragging him and putting him down, at least he's being generous enough to make it an even trade with the money on top. I also think that if you're not interested in the car, you have no business posting in his classified ad. That just makes it harder for the person who may be interested to get the answers they need that may have been answered in the posts already. By the way you guys are acting towards him right now, I'm suprised that he doesn't think of us as an STi crowd or something, and would actually want to get away from getting an SS. Leave the guy alone and let him try to work out his deal. At least he is showing respect to the SS by not only buying one, but saying it as well. He's not causing any trouble here so why would you go off and start trouble for no reason?? Some people just need to grow up.

OP, GLWS man. As stated before, about 80-90% of the people on here are just ignorant ********, so don't even let it get to you. If they have something negative to say, don't give them the pride and joy of a response. Just ignore it. If I was a skittle guy, I'd be all over this (but I have red), but I'm not a skittle guy. They are nice, yes, just not what I want. So, GL again, and I really do hope it works out for you. I do know a guy trying to get rid of a silver TC right now, I'll ask him if he's willing to work with ya or not. Only issue is he lives in NC lol

man you're one of the VERY few genuinely good guys that i've heard from on this forum...there are only a select few others that have actually not been complete douches about it. I was just saying on another page on this thread how this site is looking more like a honda ricer forum rather than an american tuner forum...and its just looking more and more like it unfortunately, which is a shame because the SRT forums are awesome, my car would not be where it is right now if it wasn't for the guys on that site. Yeah every forum has its dicks but never thought there would be so many on this site. I'm going to have to delete this thread and start over thanks to the idiots that have nothing better to do with their lives other than make this thread get over 4 pages long. Thanks for the support man hopefully i'll be hearing from more of guys like you and less guys like most of these other guys.
No problems gatekeeper, it's perfect inside and out, 49k miles, and i've never had to take it in for warranty work for as long as i've had it, and I bought it when it had 30k miles on it. Every performance part that is on it was put on by a professional mechanic, not by me. (I gave him over a thousand dollars in parts for his car in exchange for installs on my car) so everything was done right.
ronn I completely know where you're coming from about the buyer bs, i've sold other cars before and know how you can't go by what they say. As a matter of fact, one of the 3 black cars has already backed out and one won't return my pms, so I definitely can't say yes or no to the bullshit...i've been let down before so I never get my hopes up when it comes to selling or trading a car so I don't get let down when it doesn't happen. But I for sure have had the black 08 off of mautofied want to meet up half way and go through with the trade so I know it's definitely possible because it almost happened. The only reason I didn't end up trading him is because he texted me like a day before we were supposed to meet sayin he forgot to tell me the right rear quarter panel had damage. So yeah i'm prepared for bullshit, but i'm not listening to these dumbasses that keep saying it won't happen or it can't happen. I'll be glad to post up the details when it happens. I'll be all over this site asking questions and buying parts when it happens too, so you'll be seeing me around
