I don't think anyone has been willing to spend that much money. However it certainly serves a purpose on these cars if someone did buy it.

People that buy cobalts are on a tighter budget, and to drop almost 4 grand on a tranny when theirs is working just fine is hard to justify.

However, people still buy 5 grand turbo kits.. So who knows!

It would be really nice to have something like this.

I talked to autotech who are the north american Quaife reps, 2 years ago and we stalled out at 3500. its over priced imho...but would consider it for myself it came down20% or so....originally made for the LSJ Ariel Atom built by Brammo on the west coast and a failed project (ran out of $) iirc

We have fielded a few calls and emails about this deal. I think that Quaife is pretty much done with these pieces and what you see is what you get....No more after that from what I am reading between the lines here.

if they stop making these and the parts for them, and no one knows what kind of power they'll hold. i dont think any one will bite. if you guys decide you want to start giving them away at cost or a loss to make room, PM me, ill test one out for the right price, i have a big build going on right now. and if i can pick one of these up close to what id be paying for the 4.45 gear set swap id go with this. let me know dezod

I've wanted to do this for years! I remember when these first came out!

Although I'm a typical broke Cobalt owner and I can't afford this.

it comes with the LSD, and the 6 gears should break down the power better... better mpg, less torque steer, you're car might transfor into a robot while youre sleepin...

an i dunno... watever else, I'm jus gettin that from lookin at the picture

We would be willing to cut a break on one set for someone, however I doubt it will change anything for sales volumes on this part.

If I had the money, been saying that for years. Was talking about this the other night at a meet actually, someone said something about whether I was a 5 spd or 6 spd, kids I tell ya, more gears more awesome you are I guess lol. I wouldnt mind having it as it'd be rare but money is the issue.

I've never found a rating for this kit... I imagine it isnt rated for anything too crazy considering the weight of an Atom and the lower tq that an LSJ made in those cars. With that said. a 4.45 and this 6 speed would be like being in a boat race!

6 gears in space for 5 = narrower gears= less torque capacity. Its a neat transmission I would buy it but the cost is too high for what it is...
