Overstock: Quaife F35 6 Speed Kit (DON"T MISS OUT)
i thought all of the gears would actually be the same not narrower becuase of the extended shaft and end casing. That would make room for another regular sized gear, but just the teeth on these gears are unbelievable. Makes me wonder if it whines at all. lol And the synchros? Are those any better to be able to get into the next gear better at higher rpm? Very interested in this transmission and actually may save up for a month or so and buy this puppy to be the one on this forum to try it out and tell everyone how it is! but for now we will see and just save money in the process.
So are you saying I am wrong? The main shaft is longer the end cover is different to accomodate the 6th gear but the space in the car is limited, and the main case halves are exactly the same therefore the gears have to be narrower to make this work. But then you can always ask the supplier in California who is sitting on these to confirm this.
Like I said, they have been sitting on these for years, they were made for the Brammo Ariel Atom deal that fizzled. It would not take much movement in the price for them to sell, but Autotech are stubborn. Speedbuggy took a run at them last summer and nothing happened.
And now ZZP have a way better six speed if you want to go that way with lots of torque capacity.
Usual disclaimers.

Ya this is true zzp is starting to come out with the f40 thing. And no not the fact that your wrong, but just saying its like they did make more space for the 6th gear. I heard th that the resin price can't go down much is because of quaife themselves will not allow it.
You are thinking about this wrong. This system was design for the Aerial Atom which never really took off for a number of financial reasons. The system is a 6 speed spread as apposed to a 5 speed spread allowing for better throttle response, gear selection and fuel economy on a track based car or street car.
Agreed.
Agreed.
