05 Mustang v6 auto-14.6 w/ light bolt-ons

Buddy filmed his night at the track w/ his 05 Mustang v6 auto w/ intake/ tune/ exhaust <duals and single have dynoed the same gain>. Oh, and an underdrive pulley also that dynoed at 0 gain, lol. Tracks at sea level, temp was about 84-86 degress, humidity 65%.

No, thats not a GT, he just has GT takeoff parts from Saleen, you can tell it's a six by the back emblem, GT has "GT" in the middle of it, six has a tri-bar pony.

Decent times but if its an auto why does it chirp going into the gears like that w/o the aid of a shiftkit? I have never seen a computer tune that harsh to do that.

I rented a 06 v6 for a day and I thought it was a slug. They asked me how I liked their Mustang and they were shocked when I told them "I didn't". Once I told them whay I drove they understood my reasoning.

I agree with the "slug" comment.... i have a kid in my neighborhood who claimed that his new 05 V6 stang would beat my car as it is now.... HAHAHA

We raced from a stop and he put maybe a half on me, and then suddenly my boost appears and i rocket past him with me shifting at 4,000rpm and RELAXING

Well finally i grew tired of playing around and finally downshifted when the kid finally caught back up (with the gas still floored), got the boost up to 20 pounds an instantaneously put around 6 cars on him with my shift into fourth..... I was still pulling extremely fast and around 8 cars ahead, I gave up when i suppose he smacked his 110mph fuel cut off

Those are pretty good times. It would be cool to get a V6 Stang and put a SC or turbo on it and beat the crap out of some ricers........ just say hey it's only a V6 Stang.

The old V6 stangs sucked. The new V6 is a pretty descent motor.

Yea, the T5 in factory form in the new stangs (both V6 and V8) is nicked named by us Ford guys as the "slush box"!!! Super soft shifts, drove me up the wall. Got a CAI/Tuner package and not only did the shifts firm up, and give me the ability to chirp my tires, but it also shaved 3/10ths off my ET's.

Someone asked about a SC/TC 4.0. Scrming and a few others have SC'd (Vortech/Procharger) 4.0L's that run consistent mid 13's. Some of us that used to be juiced hit mid 13's easy as well.

I have the Powerhouse Pipeline turbo in mind and got it to 13.08@105.99MPH. Still determined to get 12's on only 8.5lbs of boost!!!!

Yea but how many people are running twin turbo on there v6's???

I was just reffering to Stock motor with bolt-ons. And i have seen some with turbo's and S/C that weren't even that fast.

But thats a sweet one. But for the modifications most people do to there cars the old v6's sucked. And the new ones can get in the 14's a lot easier.

Twin-Turbo? Not many... because that was totally custom.

Single Turbo? Quite a few...

Yeah, if you just do I/E, you're probably not going to get out of the low 15's... even if you can drive, though it's possible. However, if you've got a 5-speed (auto's are MUCH slower), 14's can be had with just gears/traction-lock and maybe a few cheap bolt-ons. Most people buy a bunch of stuff that does basically nothing, or isn't the most efficient way of going faster, but that's with every car, really.

I've seen some SS/SC's and RL's run well into the 15's, too. Obviously, that doesn't mean they are all slow... or even that that specific CAR is slow.

Well, like I said, most people buy crap that's totally useless or unnecessary, and that goes for every car. If you buy the right parts, the 99-04's can be at least respectable, especially if you go F/I.

Anyway, not that big of a deal. I'm pretty used to people bashing the V6.

So did he stall the car or just feel like giving the other guy a 2 and a half second head start?

Haha... well, it's got the Ford Auto in it, so I don't think he stalled. I guess he was just waiting, trying to get a good launch, I guess.

Hey, I'm not interested in an argument. Obviously, I'm a Ford guy, but Chevy builds some good stuff, too. I was just pointing out the bias, and more importantly, IRRELEVANCE of that statement.

Well to be fair you did come on a chevy website I'm not being biased just letting you know most people on this site are. That twin turbo setup is reiculous but if you guys want huge power you are going to need to rebuild your engine 12 pounds on a stock motor. EEK sounds like bad news soon. Good luck anyways.

Blainestangs been here for quite a while. He contributes and is an asset to the board regardless of where his allegiance stands. He has a good point too.

Site bias is to be expected, but this place goes a little overboard. I swear Bob lutz could **** in an outhouse and label it the new Camaro, while Ford and Dodge could build awesome new versions of the Stang and Challenger, 99% of this place would still pay $35k for Lutz's ****, and probably pay another $5k for the corn option.

At least over on LS1Tech they give props to a fast car for being a fast car, regardless of who builds it. I was surprised by the help I reveived when I posted there asking about a WS6.

Well, I realize that. I'm just pointing out that saying stuff like that is pretty ignorant and definately irrelevant. Of course, that doesn't mean people won't say it... and I'm not surprised when they do.

He's been running 17psi for over a year and a half, and making probably near 500whp now.

Other guys on that TMAturbo website above are making 300-400whp+ on stock internals.

http://www.tmaturbo.com/Mikhail.htm

Sure, you better make sure you've got a good tune if you're going for big numbers, but even the stock engine can take a beating if you know what you're doing.
