Would my car beat an 80 something camaro with no mods but an exhaust? Not a drag race but rolling like 60 and who ever pulls wins...lemme know what you think...camaro is an automagic by the way

he claims the camaros got like 350hp and I want a non biased opinion.

 

i have a 07 ss/sc stock and my friend has a camaro, not sure of the year but its a replica of the one from the transformers. him and his dad rebuilt it and put a crate engine in it and it has around 400 hp, but it has a governor that shuts him down at 4k rpms every gear til his engine is broken in. i wouldnt go from 60. if you went from 40 then you may be able to pull him. his car is probably heavy as **** too so its a good chance.

 

with only an exaust...you win. Those 80's Camaro's had no power at all man. My brother has one, and I beat the **** out of it every time!

 

haha aiite good cause this kids cocky as hell and I mean my car pulls like a bitch surprisingly the SC whines real loud two. Id love to rape him haha but you think I should start at 40? I get no pull at like 40 in 3rd gear. I like 50 in 3rd gear.

2nd gear you think? thats the best gear to start in....I alwys likes the 4th to 3rd drop but Aite I can do the 3rd to 2nd haha

 

if you punch it in 3rd from 40 you aren't going anywhere

 

ive driven a kid who as a 86 trans am that has a 350 crate motor from that era and he says my car is considerably faster

 

i had an 87 trans am with exsht and now an ss/sc. you will win hands down

 

70 in third...50 is too slow, but starting at 70 is pointless.... 40 is good in 2nd

 

is it a 350 TPI? If it is, he'll be close to you at first, then you'll start to pull away. If it's anything with a rochester 4 barrel carb, you'll win easily.

I had an 89 Iroc Z28 with a 350 TPI, exhaust k&n filters and underdrive pulley. It was running 14.8's @ 93 ish mph. This car is a TQ monster. I believe it had 240HP & 365TQ. Anyway, good luck!

A 97 camaro has an LT1 in it. Now it's a different story, He probably does 350 HP in it. If he does, he'll win. But go race and find out.......

idk but hes got a 97 camaro with intake and exhaust...

 

you'll be fine. when i just had a muffler welded on i beat my friends auto 95 z from a dig and roll. all he had was intake, headers, o/r y pipe, and catback. if it was a 6 speed he'ld have a better chance. but i think you'll be able to beat him. i'll still beat him at the track on occasion if he doesn't get a good reaction time. and he's got gears, built/stalled trans, DR's, some suspension stuff, and a tune now. of course i don't just have a muffler anymore either hahah

 

Honestly don't expect to win by much if at all until your pullied (that is assuming it is well taken care of and serviced). Once you get the S2 you will deff be able to edge him out. Just hope he is having optispark problem (common) which makes it considerably slower.

 

All the V8s were 305s then.



SS/SC is wasting it's gas...I used to smoke em with my stock SS/NA, and bolted it was even funnier.
