06 ss/sc vs. 04 grand prix gtp comp g

I have an 06 ss/sc with a 3 inch zzp intake and 60k miles. hes got an 04 gtp with the comp g package with a wizaired intake or whatever and he has about a 120k miles. the race will be happening soon. im almost positive id walk by at least 2 car lengths from a 20-40 roll.. im just looking for other peoples opinions because theres no races out there with this matchup that ive seen.

Better have your shifts on point. SS/SC takes regular GTPs but not by much. Being Comp G he as a better ratio trans 2.93 vs 3.29

If you weren't stock you'd wipe the floor with him but being stock it could be close.

i feel that his trans has seen better days though. pontiacs dont do to well over a 100k miles.

The trans in those cars is not very strong and they don't take well to being beat on. your second statement is a terrible over generalization.

All depends on how treated and maintenance.

I agree with you but the trans in the gtp/gxp is notorious for being a weak link of the car. I wasn't targeting all pontiac's in general as having that issue.

The trans in the 5.3 impala and grand prix along with the impala ss and grand prix GTP and buick regal with the 3.8SC are the weak points of those cars. But i also have heard with a few bolt ons to the 3.8SC you have a 13 sec car.

If you spend your money correctly you can spend $500 and get 13 sec.

Op to help you out, the chances are very good that youll win. The gf has an 05 GTP with intake, mufflers and a mild tune with around 110k on the clock and from a roll the car is ok at best, but from a dig chances are the gp will hold you behind it til well over 100mph depending on how well you can drive. I know this cuz my local ss/sc balts with mods will flat out walk away from her on rolls, lol. Hopr this helps out
