12.8@102???

i was on tunerfriends seeing how many cobalts were on their(not many) and noticed a yellow cobalt ss/sc so i clicked on it...after scrolling down i noticed that under best 1/4 time he put 12.8@102 ...all he says he has down is an intake and an exhaust...i don't think that is possible...is it??? i pm'd him and asked him if he had a timeslip to back that up and am waiting to see what he says...just thought i would get everyone's take on this...

Nah not possible. I could see a 13.8 at that Trap speed. I would want to see a time slip. You need way more then an intake and exaust to do a 12.8. Not only that but you could have 500 hp in the cobalt and it still would be difficult to effectively hit 12.8. You would run like a 14.7 at 135 trap speed mainly because you couldnt put that power to the ground

Doubt it, the best we have here with that setup is Tofu with a 13.85 @ 101.99mph

To chop an entire second off, eh...

Basically just a stage 3 with the addition of a clutch/flywheel and corsa. Also, a 2.7" pulley vs the 2.8".
Yes the fastest S/C SS to date is Rob who ran 13.52@104.80 mph. Yes, this guy is full of it. He's definitely not running those kind of times with just an intake and exhaust.

A 500 Horse power SS/SC that has trouble hitting 12.8 1/4mi? Are you freakin nuts, or just special ed? Tofu's got a 1/4mi of 13.8 with engine mounts and a CAI. Lets see, thats a measly 10-15 hp boost, and the 1/4mi drops from 14.6 avg to 13.8 ( approximately .8 sec off 1/4mi ). I dont know what planet you live on, but if you add 295 horses to our cobalts, they sure as hell wont be doing 12's. Easily 11's, and maybe even high 10's ( or lower, I mean 500 horses is equal to a Ford GT after all ).

See, what everyone is over looking is TRACTION!!! If you cant launch because of wheel hop, your 1/4mi is going to suck ass. You can add all the HP you want, but you need TRACTION.

Heres the best advice I can give to everyone who owns a cobalt with close to 300 horses or more:

Torque braces
Engine mounts
Slicks

You want good 1/4mi times, go out and buy these. Until then, please dont under rate our cars capabilities

ford GT is 550 hp. And Tofu ran a 14.1 w/ CAI and a 13.85 with CAI and a pulley.

you dumb ass....

Anyway if you would have READ my post what you said above is exactly what I said....

TRACTION...

you can have 500 HP, but if you dont HAVE THE TRACTION TO PUT IT TO THE GROUND then you will run a 14.6 at 146 MPH.....

146 MPH trap speed is like a 11 second car.... but if you spin all of first, second and third, your 1/4 mile time is gonna stink even though you where going fast as ****.

My boy has an SRT 4 that ran 14.7 at 124 MPH just for an example. The reason was he cant put the power to the ground.

So take the stock cobalt that suposidly ran a 12.8. I was saying even if that car had 500 HP it still wouldnt run 12.8 because it needs suspension mods first noob.

its call reading, you did learn that in school right? Before you call someone out make sure you back it up with facts.

exactly what he was saying, you can have 500hp but getting it to stick to the ground with a good launch would be very difficult, he's not underrating the cars...

If you owned a 500 horse power cobalt, you would need to upgrade the suspension regardless. You couldnt have a 500 horse power cobalt without suspension upgrades. Therefore, your 1/4mi would have to be better than 12.8.

Your argument is moot.

Its called comprehension skills, and common sense.

are you 12?

I can build a car that has 500 HP and no suspention if I wanted. It would be stupid but it can be done. You really are pretty dumb, your really arguing with me on this one?

I could take my cobalt SS, put a turbo on it, upgrade all the internals etc. Leave the susupension stock right? Am I going to run

they sure as hell wont be doing 12's. Easily 11's, and maybe even high 10's ( or lower, I mean 500 horses is equal to a Ford GT after all ).
thats exactly how stupid you are. And if I was smart I woudl assume you meant wtih suspension upgrades too, but I want to call you out just like you did to me, so no you wont run 10's and you dont know what your talking about, where you born on this planet man? You special ed or something?

you could have just said dude I read your **** wrong my bad.

Originally I read you said:

Are you freakin nuts
special ed?
what planet you live on

so you called me out told me i was stupid and YOU WHERE WRONG. Now your defending the fact you where wrong? Any body else see how stupid this was. You called me out on false prefixes and now your still saying I was wrong. Maybe you shoudl go back and get a 3rd grade education. its not hard man.

Maybe the guy has stickers on the side of his car, on his window, inside the car, on the rims, maybe his whole car is made up of stickers that give him 35-40whp on a dynojet. Or maybe his car is a sticker itself making him have 300000000000 whp.

no no, he combined the SS with a civic Si badge, then took a type R badge...so its a SSRSi!!! you know that combines the power of all those cars and multiplies them by eachother then thats just the power per cylinder!

LOL!!!

I would not make this an issue guys. Any one with a brain (which is 99% of us on this site) knows that a 12.8 @102 isn't possible for a cobalt ss. End of discussion.

Grammar and spelling there, high speed. If youre going to call me a 3rd grader based on "false prefixes" ( what u really meant was false pretenses, not prefixes ), then the least you can do is show some relative intellegence with proper sentence structure, and grammarical usage/spelling.

As for not needing to upgrade suspension, unless you are retarded and want to leave a trail of parts behind your car, yes you can have 500 horses with stock suspension. The amount of torque and overall power added would be insane. You would need to upgrade, period.

Dont try to "call me out" based on intellegence level. As shown with all posts by u, youre lacking in that catagory. If I have an 3rd grade level IQ, then you must have a preschool level IQ.
