Common sense says you have to have the Suspension to match the power you want to put to the ground. If you dont you wont run anything you think you will. 10's are not possilbe in our cars if they had 500 HP, without major Suspension upgrades, end of story.

So much speculation on high HP FWD cars...

I ran a 13.4@119 on street tires spinning into 3rd gear w/ ~450whp with only Hotchkis lowring springs. A friend of mine ran 12.7@115 w/ ~400whp on street tires. Anyone that runs high 14's in the 120's needs to learn a bit about throttle control. And I ran an 11.3 w/ 8x26" slicks with just the Hotchkis lowering springs in the rear (went back to stock springs in the front to clear the slicks).

And while 12.8@102 is extremely unlikely, I did once miss 4th gear and coasted across the finish line to a 12.6@95... so anything is possible. I do find that it is highly unlikely at this point in time for a Cobalt SS/SC to run those numbers though. However we know of one twin charged Cobalt so there could be other that just don't frequent the forums. Still to run that number would take a screw up of some sort, which means the car is capable of much quicker times.

500whp can get you into the 10's provided you have done alot of work in tuning the supension/setup AND you have an excellent driver. However, for the average FWD Cobalt (or SRT-4), 500whp will mean mid 11's.
