2006 Cobalt SS GM Stg 2 vs. (Suprise inside) :-D

So I'm heading home after the MAD meet, and I see this guy on my ass. I'm doing 60 in a 45 anyway. I recognize the headlights. It's a RAM truck. I was thinking at the time it was my buddy's g/f. She's either driving or he's driving and he's just playin with me.

So anyway, I get into the right hand lane, and the truck pulls up beside me. It's a Black SRT-10 Truck. DEFF not him or his g/f's truck.

He's hit the throttle twice to signal he wanted to go. I gunned mine a couple times. When I let off that second burst of gas, he takes off. (We're doing about 50 at the time he takes off)

I immediately drop it in 2nd and take off after him. 3rd gear comes and I SLOWLY pull around him. We end at around 90mph or so.

NO FREAKIN WAY did this just happen! I know those trucks are over 5100 without anyone in it. But I didn't think I had a chance. I just wanted to see how bad he'd beat me. But it was the other way around. I'm STILL psyched about it!

So we get to the light. He's 2 cars in front of me in the other lane. I look beside me and my buddy Steve and his turbo Scion TC are there. I call out to him, I just beat that dude.

Now his Turbo Scion can keep up with my Stage 2 pretty well. (I'm still faster )

He pulls away to catch up to him and he got him too.

We get to the next light and it's far left lane the Viper Truck, Steve in the middle, I'm on the right.

Dig?? WTF am I thinking?? lol

Light turns green. They take off (I'm trying to ease out off the line) I'm near redline, shift to second, My RPMS go all the way up and I'm not moving (Slipped clutch) lol I ease off and let them go lol. He got him again (so he said)

What a night!

(Cars clutch is fine now btw)

I need an upgrade...

So for anyone who has Stage 2 (or better) or an LNF, and hasn't had the ***** to race a Viper Truck, PLEASE DO! You will enjoy the outcome!

KthankxBIE!

What is the surprise? Is it that you made this thread in the Drag Racing section, which means at the drag strip, instead of the War Stories section where it belongs?

it's mostly black, but has a few red decals. Black wheels with red pin stripe.

^^ I totally agree. It's happened before. Twice actually a month or so apart. It could be slipping at the track a I don't even know it. That's why I'm only running a 14.02 in the 1/4 I could be in the 13's by now.

I took one out in DeLand, where i roam...it was the swb, 6-speed and he was rolling 3 people deep, but still, i was like u...wanted to see how bad he would beat me....I WAS SHOCKED...and u should've seen the look on his face...i mean, i knew they were heavy, and trucks usually have trouble hooking up, but i was like 3+ cars ahead by the mid/top of third...LOVED IT!!!!
