8 sec ss

Hey well lets say that im new to this site. im on j-body though. ne wayz i live in naples and my friend invited me to west palm to the track and i saw an ss there all gutted out with dr's and it ran around 8 sec at 140. ne one know whos car this is and wuts been done to it. thanks in advance

if thats the ecko cobalt its a 2.2 liter ecotec engine, the reason for the 2.2 n/a engine being chosen over the 2.0 supercharged engine is due to the potential of the 2.2, sure out of the box and ss will hand the ls its ass but in the world of modification the 2.2 has alot more potential than the 2.0, which is why all the serios cobalts racing are 2.2 right now, we will have to wait and see what the 2.4 can do...

It's all due to displacement. The higher the displacement, the higher hp potential you have. I can say this, the stock interals are much better on the 2.0L vs. the 2.2L.

agreed but those are changed out on that car so it doesnt matter, even if you wanted to make serious power on the ss you would still have to change them out
