Besides the whole gas price issue, the average car these days is most likely a high 14 second car or so. Look at the new v6 Camrys, mid 14's, the new Accord, low 14's with a manual and high 14's with an auto. The new 350Z's are mid 13 second cars, G37's are 13 second cars. Hell alot of new trucks could pull off a mid to high 14 second pass. Cars are getting faster, and are only gonna be getting faster over the years.

I have a clutch and an intake, raced a 98 6 spd and lost by about a car and a half. We raced to about 100 mph. Off the line i burned out more than him and we stayed neck and neck till 40 than he statred to pull and by 100 he had a car and a half.

Some guy at my golf club rolled in with a new car. He just got a stock 99 corvette 6 speed hard top and he let me take a spin in it and I wasn't really blown away. I just liked the rwd a lot more then our cars. I did about a quarter mile run or so and got it up just over 100 and it felt similar to my car. BTW his car only had 4300 miles...

I told him once I get all my **** installed I will let him take my car for a spin and maybe even a little race...I will have Header/Dp, CAI, 2.8, 60's, and tuned. I dont expect to pull on him, but I think I could hang...
What do you guys think?...and yes I searched and found a similar thread. Also I looked up specs of his vette and 0-60 in low 5s and 1/4 mile in 13.6 at 107.

?? it doesnt matter that much.. You make it sound like there is a world of difference when in the real world, the driver accounts for more than the difference between the two..
I dont really know what the difference is...???? we did a 40 to 80 run yesterday and we both started in second and we were virtually even. He even said I was ahead a touch, but I think I jumped a smidgen. (sp?) Ofcourse when I let off at 80mph he proceeded to go til about 130mph. So I yelled at him for driving like that on a highway...he told me to shut the hell up lol

And yes, there is a difference. Weighs less, and has a stiffer chasis.
3.42 rear, and z51 handling package as well.

I misread what he said.
I thought he was stating that the hatch models of the cars weren't hatches. I know he meant an FRC after his reply.
But for someone to say there is not much of a difference between the frc models and you base hatch was ignorant.
