So here's the scoop. My friend and I and a few other friends are going to Test and Tune night at the strip in July, I used to think I would be undefeatable with the Cobalt Stock, but now everyone is upgrading their cars. MR2, Lexus, Mazda Speed, etc. I won't go down the list of what they're doing, but one in particular I want to beat.

My friend has a 2006 GTI and he's about to get a CAI and a Stage one done which take his car from...

Stock > Stage 1
Weight 2934 lbs > 2934 Rough est.
200 HP @ 5000 RPM> 245 HP @ Crank
207 TQ @ 1800 RPM > 280 TQ @ Crank

Can I beat him?

From what I understand I'm at

Weight 2952 lbs
260/260 @ 5600 RPM

stop paper racing and just race...too many variables to predict who would win.

 

i beat a GTI with those same mods by about 2-3 cars and still pulling at 120

i have a ss/sc with est. 245 to the wheels

 

yes you will beat him if you can drive decently. i use to work at vw and i ran my managers gti with apr stage 1 tune, apr downpipe,and intake with the dsg tranny from a roll and i was stock and i beat him by a car and a half to two cars i cant really remember because it was like a year and a half ago but for sure it was more than a car.

and the gti's are way heavier than 2,934 pounds
