Grip doesn't kill Cobalt axles on street tires, wheelhop kills Cobalt axles on street tires.

I've seen people break axles both with and without burning out. It's WHEELHOP. You say he didn't get any...were you in the car?

Reason I say "too much grip" is utter bullshit for why an SS/SC will snap an axle on street tires is 1) they're street tires and 2) the stock Pirellis HATE heat. They lose all grip when they're hot. I used to auto-x mine and by the third run they were so warm that I could barely control the car. So if you burn out and heat them up, you're getting WAY LESS grip in the tires...

Because the bad men will come back and kill a kitten if you don't race? BS...you never HAVE to race.

Again, where was the gun that was pointed at your head?

Hopefully no one else is involved in this lesson. A nice one-car-wrapped-around-a-telephone-pole should do nicely to serve as a lesson.

only makes a difference if you drive a civic.... they like to do things that don't help, but claim that it makes a huge difference.

What do you mean? The guy may not have been warming up the tires, but I hear doing an 8k burnout at the rev limiter really warms up the vtAk, and it's DFP that vtAk is 273% more effective when it's warmed up...that's like 2 extra HP!

does it really matter if he has self control or not? all he wanted to know is if it would help the civic any to burn out

okay if your talkin to me.. first of all.. i HATE underglow under ALL cars.. I think its retarted and Ricy and your just looking for attention.. There was a thread earlier about when to speed or how to avoid a speeding ticket.. and thats exactly why i think its stupid because all youre doing is attacting attention to yourself.. so having it on a skyline.... yeah right..... for the pictures... I dont have any on my computer because i dont have a camera of my own.. only the rents.. so i mean its hard for me to take pictures.. and its out in d.c anyway so.. i rarely get to drive it... i havent been out there in a long time to drive it.. .. so that should clear up any questions.. i think this whole arguement has died so.. lets drop it.. and move on

I beat a Ferrari once...

He had two flat tires and the engine wasn't back in yet, but I beat him.

Just throwing my $.02 in.

I wouldn't post up when I beat a car that was all broken or what not. It would be like saying you beat a 7 foot tall kid in basketball , only to find out the kid was in a wheel chair and partially retarded.

Thats like me saying i beat a c6 z06 but he was parked, and you guys are just proving your own point wrong, if he dodged the burn out box the second time then what you are saying would be false! Your are saying that doing a burn out heats up tires stock tires and makes them sticky there for if he did a burn out the first run he should have broken em then?

if all your concerned about is speed then your a moron for getting a cobalt at all. Between the car and mods you could have a 9 sec fox body, and a daily driver

I never said i was concerned with speed, i simply said the motor, and i dont even have that car anymore so get your facts staright. I have a completely stock 07 ss/sc, and plus why do what everyone else is doing and what has already been done.
