Thanks man.

I will say I never tried to one up anyone or impersonate an SS/SC or SS/TC. I bought the 2.4SS to be different, and also b/c its my one and only car/daily driver, and 47k miles later, im glad I made the decision on the car I own, especially with fuel prices the way they are these days.

Owell, some people just wanna go on forums and have a Napolean complex and start **** b/c they apparently fail in real life

470 horses out of a turbo sounds like poor tuning too me.... Unless the engine is a ticking bomb, which if that is the case the mustang has a poor build.

NTM, that same mustang could probly run a simple 50 shot and beat the civic.
470 to the wheels is pretty damn good coming from a stock 300 hp. thats a 170 increase

only 6psi

If I had the money for a balt and I had to choose between a white 2.4 or a regular ss/sc, and after seeing what you've done with yours... I'd be lying if I said it would be an easy choice.

Yeah i have a napoleon complex

Its a wannabe SS because SS stands for Super Sport. a long standing heritage of power and muscle.

I wouldnt consider a N/A 4 banger to be the epitome of muscle. Most everyone agress that the N/A Cobalt should have never worn the SS badge. But whatever...you bought one and if that makes you happy, cool.

But dont tell me I fail on a car forum when my car would outrun yours if i was shiting at 3k RPMs in every gear.

Did I mention most stock 03-04 cobra's run 420 ish horses? Ill bet that civic is boosting a hell of a lot more than the mustang.

there are hondas running same power and more.

I thought 03/04 cobras were 390/390 at the crank?

If you're going that way, I wouldn't call any cobalt a ss. I love my muscle and wish I had one, but I think in no way a ss nova can compare to any balt.

they listed at 390 crank but most dyno atLEAST that factory.

Plus its very cheap to get them to 500+whp.

We have "honda's of doom" being built aorund here all the time. And while some of them make decent dyno queens....almost all fail miserably at the track.

This little detail called traction.

Who cares about who you could out run? Did I ever once say "oh yeah man, my car would smoke you"? I used to own a modified E36 M3 and a modified 2nd gen RX-7, so save your words on owning a fast car. I sold them b/c I needed something more conventional that could be driven in the snow and get better gas mileage. The few power mods I did to my car were for self satisfaction, not to go be king of the road. So grow up and stop trying to start pointless arguements.

on a side note, I forsee this thread going in the "epic thread" archives someday, lol....

LOL at a E36 or Turbo II (hopefully) RX7 being fast.

Neither are any faster than a stock cobalt SS SC/TC

My E36 had quite a few upgrades from Dinan and UUC Motorwerks. In all honesty, i'd easily say it was faster than an SS/TC. I could be wrong, just stating my opinion.

But thats about as much of this thread as I can take. Its gotten way off track. Im out.

You get people in here like that bologna guy who just wants to go on and on about how shithouse someones car is, and even when your making a legitimate point, he's still gonna call you wrong.

They were underrated. Most stock cobras ran 400ish + on the dynos. Usually around 420 ish.

Doesnt matter what those hondas are running. Id be willing to be there are MANY more faster mustangs out there than civics.

Id also be willing to bet that its easier to make a cobra RELIABLY faster than a civic. Especially considering most cobras gawk at 600+ HP.

There is no replacement for displacement, especailly in a V8. You can completely rebuild and boost a civic for 30 lbs of boost and make 400 horses, or you can boost a V8 for 15 psi and make 600+.

NTM RWD is MUCH better than FWD. You can boost that civic all you want, but launching that FWD is a real pain.
