cobalt ss 2.4 VS caddy cts
hey guys.. ive been on this site a while and alot of people post a car that they could race and ask how they would do.. Most people say "just do it" lol but just wondering. he has a 2004 caddiliac cts he has the 3.6 v6 motor in his car. and his car is automatic.
my car is a 2.4 ss with intake and exhaust. but i need a tune its been running wack.. ive been running like 15.3s-15.5s tuned i should be like 15.0 (lots of track experience) so i figured... hey what do you guys think i would do?
personally i think off the line he might take me a few cars. and from a roll race i should take him with his car being heavy and mine being manual..
what do you guys think??
and yes.. keep the racing on the tracks lol.. i dont wanna hear that

yeah but i road in his car and even drove it my self off the line it still seems a lil slow.. but then again it could be ride comfort
2004 Cadillac CTS 3.6l 6.6 15.0
that is from a website.. so im thinking most of his 1/4 time would be off the line with 255 horse and being a 6 banger. but the weight and what not would catch up to him? if im right..
so im thinking a roll race would be my best bet

I don't know the actual performance numbers on those CTS's, but I do know they're quick. Plus, they have a sport shift button, which is a nice add-on. Honestly, he'd probably get you. I could be wrong.. But knowing from owning a 2.4, and from driving lots of the CTS's.. Even-though Cadillacs are heavy, their performance numbers are pretty good. Ever since the Northstar, their numbers have been reasonable. Keep us updated.

Well.. the 3.6 is a 15.0' car.. and you aren't running that right now, so ...
Honestly, probably be a driver's race. Power to weight should be about the same.

Those new ones are monsters. That direct injection is no joke. The thing with alot of the GM V6's is that they're very torquey. Very good down low. But they lack in the high-end. My Dad has an '04 Monte SS (the L36 n/a version). It has 200hp and 240tq. The thing pulls very good in the low and mid, but has NOTHING in the high-end. At all. Even the s/c version (240hp, 280tq) doesn't have much in the high-end. Just better low and mid. The gearing is a bit higher in the n/a version though to make up for it. The thing is though is that my Dad's Monte would kill me from a stop. But I'd probably catch up. From mid-range, it'd be close. Like 20 rolling. But a highway run.. Toast.
