Dissapointed....

Ok this is my first time at the track with this car. You can see my sig for mods.

I went to the track tonight hoping for some low 14's but ended up with:

1st run:

R/T... .754
60' ... 2.618
330 ... 6.718
1/8 ... 9.865
MPH ... 78.50
1000 ... 12.509
1/4 ... 14.731
MPH ... 101.17

2nd run:

R/T ... .354
60' ... 2.501
330 ... 6.583
1/8 ... 9.738
MPH ... 78.41
1000 ... 12.387
1/4 ... 14.611
MPH ... 100.40

3rd run:

R/T ... .136
60' ... 2.677
330 ... 6.832
1/8 ... 9.971
MPH ... 78.85
1000 ... 12.608
1/4 ... 14.828
MPH ... 100.46

4th run:

R/T ... .069
60' ... 2.569
330 ... 6.771
1/8 ... 9.946
MPH ... 77.81
1000 ... 12.616
1/4 ... 14.845
MPH ... 99.90

So my best was 14.6 , BUT since I need to get a new clutch and learn to drive a little better then I will be set.

At the line I NEVER dumped the clutch just eased out, then shifting into 2nd it slipped on EVERY run it was a little aggrevating...

Also, shouldn't my trap speeds be higher than 101? Don't count the last run I flubbed up....

Clutch and tires man. With your setup your cappable of running a mid 13..... but a 2.6 60'? You can do better then that man, run 2.3s all day long on a stock car. But it was your first time.... These FWD cars require lots of practice.

clutch, tires and pratice! Those 60 foots are high...when you bring them down to 1.8-2.1 you'll be in the 13's. My 60fts sucked too mainly cause you have to baby it coming out the hole and not launch hard like at 3-4k like I will be doing with my new clutch. I stopped racing till the spec clutch is in...stock one is POO!

my first time at the track, the best i could run was a 14.8. 2nd time i went, my best was a 14.4 @ 99.95. my 60' was a 2.290. so, the more seat time u get in at the track, the better your times will be.

yea your 60 foot is killing you. IM not very impressed with the intense stage 3 cars. There was one up at ceicel yesterday when I was there. He ran anywhere from 14.27 -15. He also had intake and exaust. I had GM stage 1 in place of his Stage 3 intense and pulled a faster 1/4 mile time then him. We even ran a the same time and I pulled like 7 cars on him and he never made up the ground. I thought they would have been faster then that. He even had the 2.8 inch pulley where mine is stock... Heres what a 2.36 60 will net you.

You should have gone to the track before the stage 3, that way you could understand how to launch your car. I bet its your clutch though...

Me either everyday I get less impressed! Thats why I think I am gonna sell the kit on ebay and buy GM stg 2 and retain my warrenty....And 7k redline!!!

I ran against a Stg 2 RL and he pulled 2 cars on me easily! And trapped 103 mph!!!!

i havent ever had a problem with my clutch. i mean, i have had it slip when i first started racing the car, but once i learned the car better i learned how to shift to make it stop slipping, and now it never does. it works great.
i guess my question is, does the stock clutch get bad as you up the performance of the car or something?

Good times! Your low trap is probably a combination of a slipping clutch and running way to rich. You probably need to lean it out a bit. Get a new clutch, mounts, bushings, and DR's, and you'll see mid 13's easy. As far as the GM vs INTENSE thing, the 7K redline is huge.
