Dissappointed

So I went to the track and it was horrible. I think there is something wrong with the car.

Reaction... .4289
60'... 2.3441
1/8... 9.8000
1/8 MPH... 77.71
1/4... 14.735
1/4 MPH... 99.96

I pulled better times with my GM stage 2 setup and slipping clutch. I had run a 14.57@100ish

I have a 2.8" pulley, Tuned by a local tuner, Injen Intake, Magnaflow muffler.
I obviously have the 60 lbers for the pulley and I have the OTTP S3 H/E.

After doing some pulls the car gets much slower and doesn't hit boost like it normally does. It is sluggish. My car should be pulling high 13's. No matter how I tried launching I couldn't get my 60's down. How are you all doing it and people with the same setup; please chime in all of your opinions.

Would getting Opt.B, ZZP Intercooler manifold eliminate my car heat soaking so fast? Is that what it is doing? I've never had a car do this.

Get a larger pulley or get more cooling mods.

I don't think it's the pulley.. 60's & s3 H/E w/ a 2.8 doesn't sound bad. I think it's the tune. It should be something wrong with your car.. Even if you would have shaved two tenths off your 60' you would have still ran a 14.3(ish)... Not that it's WAY off.. but you need something freshened up for sure.. Should be able to peep the 13s..

Well, I am getting it put on the dyno soon. For all you tuners. What is a good timing area, AFR in WOT. I need to know because I am not happy with this car right now. I tried launching from 2g - 3,300. It bogged every time and then all of a sudden would rip the tires loose and then I had to feather it. How do I boost cut.

I have so many questions right now. Who all tunes on this site?

ehh depends where you are in canada. typically a 2.8 and 60s car with a h/e can run 18-20 deg of timing depending on the car with an 11.3-11.5 AFR.
Who tuned you?

I am from the Windsor, Ontario region. I don't really want to say on the net for security reasons. It was tuned on the street by WPRacing. He has done MANY cars, the car drives great as a daily and gets amazing mileage. My AFR on WOT is 11.9

Shoot me a PM if you want to know about tuning. I am interested to see what is going on with your car.

Do you have an interceptor by any chance? I was wondering what your IAT2s are.

makes sense i run my year round tune at 11.5 personally cause it leans out in the winter some. problem is probably the timing and cooling mods. which go hand in hand. more cooling more timing, he might have you pretty conservative on the timing table.

I don't drive this car in the winter. I also need tires. I had a blow out at the track due to the horrible track conditions. I don't know what my timing is at but he said it was conservative. My IAT 2 temps were at 160-180 degrees. I need more money to mod it. I want an interceptor but I need tires badly and I have lots of debt.

ouch IAT2 temps are killer haha. i use a 3.0 so i can run more timing and heatsoak less = more power. i never see above 130 or so after a pull dual pass/optb/zzp h/e for cooling.

my buddy pretty much has your same mods, with the exception of a dual pass and OptionB. He trapped the same as you did. However, he's running a canned ZZP tune and he did it in 85 degree weather with alot of humidity.

You should definitely be into the low 100s in terms of your mph w/ a custom tune. Maybe it was the tune. Should have had it dyno tuned. Not street tuned.

I have a 2.9" pulley. Would putting that back on help my temperatures that much? I want to know if it is worth wasting my time to change the pulley. I might just splurge and get the cooling mods. Even though my tires are BALD. The track was prepped horribly as well.

I will also have to contact Spec because I had my clutch professionally installed and it tends to slip a lot when I try to use it harshly. I don't drive my car too hard because of how it acts. I am going to get a video up showing you all what my car is doing.

My idle is erratic and fluctuates from 1 g to 1.5g while driving and clutch out. BUT, when I get to a dead stop it stops doing that. MAF?
