Drag help!

So I went to qualcomm last week. First of all parking lots do not make for the best tracks, but anyways. I could not get a decent launh. I keep spinning 1st gear was useless then when I shifted to 2nd I was getting clutch slip bad. What am I doing wrong. I tried reving at like 1000, 2000, and a couple times just took off super slow. I dunno maybe I just need a new clutch. My fastest time was 9.9. With a 2.3 60 ft. Anybody have ideas how I can do better. Thanks for the help in advance!!

O BTW I have STG 2, Ingalls and injen CAI. And it was an 1/8

you're drag racing on a parking lot????

your clutch slipping could be a mechanical thing that needs to be fixed. there was a post about it somehwere on here.

our cars dont run fast 1/8 miles that's just how it goes.

welcome to the wonderful world of front wheel drive with torque.... just gotta practice playing with the throttle to keep traction not just punching it.... if you can get a tune ... have them reduce boost in the first half of 1st gear... thats what I did and it helps alot.

Thanks guys. Yes it is called race legal and they do the 1/8 in the parking lot of qualcomm. I had a cavalier with ZEX that ran 9 flats. I was just very disappointed and was wondering about what I could do to help me out. anyways thanks guys

I hope you aligned it correctly before installing it so you don't bend the brackets.... it will help a little... but maiin thing would be to change tires... a friend (inhale) switched to kuhmos and just an engine mount and he can launch damn hard with no wheel hop and better traction
