Drag racing help.
Greetings to all. I just found this site. We just purchased a 07 Cobalt coupe 2.2, auto. I took the car to the track for some bracket racing and the car was all over the place in requards to ET's. The car has the optional steel 16" wheels. Any recomendations for the following:
1. drag radials and wheels
2. a 160 degree thermostat
3. reprogram to kick the cooling fan on at a lower temp to take advantage of the cooler thermostat
4. switch to override the traction control
5. reprogram to remove the spark advance on the top and remove the spark retard from the bottom. I want to limit the extremes on both sides of the table.
I don't care about going fast but need to be able to dial the car and run on the number. I usually run at Maple Grove in Reading Pa and also frequent Raceway Park, Atco, and Island in New Jersey, and hit Cecil a few time a year.
Thanks, Jim
