Drag Racing School
Rocky Mountain Ecotec.net, Utah Chapter just got to participate in one done by our local track. Unfortunately, nobody got to make passes because the track wasn't prepped, but we walked the entire 1/4 mile, found out what everything on the timeslip means and what everything on the track has to do with it, how the winner is determined in bracket racing, and practiced on a practice tree. I even brought my Hoosier slicks and the instructor took a moment to talk about them and why the track prefers slicks over street tires, etc. The instructor was teh public relations director for the track who has over a decade of experience in drag racing on motorcycles. However, last year he ran a Chevy HHR LT. He now has one of the 2 track pace cars which are Impala SS's. I would have to say that everybody that was there learned a lot about racing, the track, and a few tricks of the track that would make you a better racer.
