Drag Tire Dilemna
I'm looking for a little input on what may be the best option for me here given the situation. I'm currently running an all around decent AutoX/DD summer tire on my PF01's, but I still have my ss/tc rims laying around with garbage tires on them and I'm debating tossing something stickier on two of them for when I head out to the 1/4 mile.
I guess my problem lies in the fact that I'm not sure what would work best on such a large diameter rim (plus the fact its still narrow at only 7.5"). would a 245/40/18 be overkill? Or would that extra width even be beneficial at all on such a narrow tire (aka just bulging like a ****). I'm not looking for anything good in the corners obviously, just the straight line. I'd like to have more sidewall but I dont think thats really possible without going ballz deep into another rim/brake setup (which simply isnt happening while I'm in college due to budgets).
I was looking at these
Hankook Ventus Z214
anyone got any insight?

no i wont be DD'ing on these at all (i'd be running the PF01's for that).. these would be just strictly the 1/4 mile (and possibly a few nights for fun on the street)

coming back to this as the season is now starting up.. will 245/40 nt05's or 235/40 nt05's be the better tire to go with on the stock ss/tc rims? I know the width will help but I'm not sure if fitment becomes an issue on the 245's?
