Fastest Stock Engine Trap?

To clear the air, I have one mod. It is a JBP Polyurethane Passenger Motor Mount. I will start with my best time of the day, 14.466@99.00. Now my 2 times with my best traps ever, 1) 14.543@103.06, 2) 14.682@102.55! Question is are these the best trapspeeds for a stock engine SS/SC? Times where done at Great Lakes Dragaway and my slips for best traps are in my image gallery. Click the camera under my username.

All I'm going to say is this. If you have anything done to your car at all. It will effect your trap times. You cant say your stock with mounts or any other type of air box mod. To me this is anooying. Mounts will help you get a higher trap because you stiff the engine up. You will get more power to the wheels and better traction. I think the highest trap time was 100.06 mph 1/4th right from the factory.

Edit Post: Check out BadSS's Thread. The Offical 1/4th mile times. Look under non-modded SS/SC. The way it comes from the factory.

That, more times than not will lower your trap speed.

This is correct since my best times always come with a lower trap. I take it that 103 mph is up there for a car with a high horsepower motor mount.

Yea me too

As for trap times getting faster with motor mounts or a air box mod this is very true. Just because you get a better 60" time doesnt mean your trap speeds will get lower.

I dunno, it just doesnt seem right to me.

Check my image gallery. I ran a trap of 102 and 103 that day. It happened. Maybe my crappy 60 footers contributed? I notice when I have higher traps, my 60 footers are poor but when my 60's and ET's improve, my traps drop. I'm not lying about my mods. I have no extra money to play with at this point in my life.

Congrats, I think that is some of the highest traps I have seen with just a mount. Thats impressive and I believe you. Maybe the track conditions were perfect. I think I'm going to the track this friday too. I'm going to Beaver Springs though here in PA.

You will runs 12s man. I see no reason why you wouldn't hit 11s. Good luck, I will be looking forward to seeing how you do. As long as your clutch does not shift and you can get some traction with those Hoosiers your going to be very fast.

Yea and, fastest trap for me was 108, thats with stage II and some GMP bolt ons. 100 was the fastest for me stock.

I've been back to GLD this season and ran a bunch of crappy 14.6's at 100 MPH. It was definately the conditions that day in 2006. When I went this season, there were puddles everywhere in the pits and lanes. Traction on the all-season tires was almost impossible!

thanks man.... I don't see why it shouldn't. I'm a fairly good driver. and with actual traction off the line I should get at least a 1.9-1.8 short time (avg 2.2x-2.3 on bald tires). aiming for @110 mph trap so we shall see. all pending on the meth kit working though. with my setup the way it is, I can't run more than 15 degrees of timing without some knock. but on meth I can push 23-25 so hopefully I get this problem figured out tonight or tomorrow morning.
