Finally......

I took the Cobalt out for a couple of passes at the Great Lakes Dragaway. This was the first time I've gone to the track to race, in the SS/SC or otherwise. Last time I went was when I was about 12 when my brother first bought his '99 Camaro SS. Anyway, on with the show.

Track conditions: 65° F, not humid at all (don't know exactly tho).

My ******* forgot to bring a tire pressure gauge or anything like that, so rather than start deflating and HOPE that all tires are at an even 20psi, I just left them at the 32psi I had topped them off at a couple of days before.

PICS!

Yes, my car's filthy - washing it tomorrow.

The second pass (right slip) was with my buddy (about 145 lbs.) in the car. He took a crappy video of the first pass with his non-zooming 3 MP digicam, but I'll post that tomorrow.

Mods are in the sig... whaddya guys think?

Yeah, that pulley isnt helping you. You need to get yourself a tune on that pcm.

Yea, I know... I'm looking to get Stage 1 in about a month or so. Do you know if that reflash would be enough, or would I have to do a more serious tune?

Also, feel free to elaborate on the times. Advice/suggestions, whatever.

Your pulley and intake may result in a blown engine if you don't hurry and get a custom HP tune! Not a good idea to running these cars with your set-up! Plus I'm stock and still faster! This is what Intense has to say.

I'm noticing that alot of your sigs have CAI with our pcm's. I really hope that these have been tuned or the cai are not on the cars. The MAF's in these cars are extremely sensitive and the cai's throw the afr by quite a bit. In the last 3-4 cars that we have dyno'd have had cai on them and the afr has been 13.5-14.5 from the start, this is very dangerous. We do NOT recommend running a cai without a custom tune.

So the Stage 1 reflash would be insufficient, then?

Yes, the reflash is tuned to the stock intake! Take off your intake ASAP, until you have the means of custom tuning. A CAI will make you run lean. Lean is BAD!!!

Good times but your car is definatly pulling timing and getting knock in the upper RPM's. Prob going to a 3" pulley your trap speed would be better.

S1 flash wouldnt be that bad if you took your CAI off. You could get a much nicer car specific tune for cheaper if you went to Intense, but youre going to need injectors either way. Injectors on that thing are nearly maxed out stock.
