First track runs!!

Well i went to the track last night and i think i did alright for my first time.
my best run was a 14.01 @107mph. I defiently need traction bad.... Next time i go i'm getting a motor mount and gforce 1s and hopfully i can slip into the 13's. My other runs were all in the range of 14.0-14.4.

With a trap of 107, you have a easy 13.6 pass on its way. Good luck and keep praticing.

Ohh yea, I have BFG drag radials mounted on 17" wheels that bolt right onto the Cobalt SS/SC. Put them on 17" rims so I could go with more rubber. Let me know if your interested. I could meet you half way if you wanted to purchase them. Only took them to the track once, but I'm selling my car.

what was your highest iat-2? at the end of the run, not staging...

im seeing highest of 118-120 on a 78* night... 6gph meth nozzle, ported blower, and stock intercooler delete... ftw

some say thats really low, just curios as to what your were?

i was also running 13.2 @ 110 on bfg g-force street tires, im going back with my stage 2 axels and mickey T's hoping for 12.8's

keep practicing youll get there...

nope... im tuned for it... like i said thats how i get away with 25* timing at wot and it comes on at 8psi to avoid puddling which ive never ever had a problem with...

i live in the desert i get away with alot of extreme things...

before the charger...

im on a 80meth 20water mix that also lets you run a bigger nozzle not so much water, im using it as a cheap alternative to race gas...

when i was getting tuned off the meth before we tuned for on the meth my temps were just as low to start off but they would climb slowly to like 130-135 from 100 and with the meth they would not climb at all maybe 5* but nothing more and these are third gear full pulls on the freeway.... from 3k to 7k

as long as you have something to monitor iat-2's your fine with no matter what set-up your running just monitor temps and drive accordingly....

i reccomend this if you have a interceptor set your annunciator to iat-2 above 160 then you'll know if you need to shut down or not... this is what i do when i dont have it set to 2* of kr... which is what i keep it on cuz i know my iat-2's are under control... and the next important engine killer is knock...

I think with a trap of 110, you should be deep in the 12s

yeah traction and clutch slip is the main issues needing to be addressed as of now, im not gonna get no where without those

and im looking for et streets cuz mr DR are heavy as **** and just going to the et's will lose 6lbs off each wheel which should help the clutch out a little

of coarse the wot box helps a ton with making sure the clutch is fully engaged before power comes back in

I had similar issues last time at the track too
stock clutch has done a great job over the years. thing is, i had more grip to use, but launching any higher, and the clutch didnt like me anymore

Im breaking in my exedy right now. so im hoping to improve in a few weeks

So many people think you can't run a number 6 gph nozzle. It's all in the tune and the mix. Sounds like everything is going well with your Cobalt.

You have alot more mods than me with a much higher trap speed. Your def good for low 13's. I hit 13.9 at 103 with only the mods in my sig. But I went to the track alot to finally break into the 13's.
