frist time at the track (srt-4)

well, i only have a short ram intake and a short throw and this was my best run of the day:

R/T - 1.175
60' - 2.267
330 - 6.145
1/8 - 9.240
mph - 80.58
1000 - 11.856
1/4 - 14.081
MPH - 101.75

i was hitting 14.3 like clockwork on all my previous runs, and this was my best. again, im quite suprised for being my first time at the track.

i was talking with another srt guy thats a friend of mine and he said it was odd i was able to hit a 14.0 with a 2.2 60'...any of you guys care to shed some light on what he was talking about?

That is just a slow 60' time for the run. It means your car is faster to make up the difference, or you're a really good driver. That is a good thing. I'm sure if you could cut a better 60', you'd definately be in the 13.8 sec 1/4 mile timeframe.

thanks

but the best part was chewing up the mustang i ran against. he was talking a big game but came up short:

R/T - .323
60' - 2.578
330 - 7.513
1/8 - 11.124
MPH - 70.74
1000 - 14.045
1/4 - 16.452
MPH - 94.27

i feel bad for my friends that own mustang gt's...and that they had to watch that happen to one of their own.

My first time at the track was a 13.2, that was with a few mods though, like AWG, TBE, CAI, S-2, FMIC. My 60's was real bad, 2.3 but my MPH was 108. Then I blew my headgasket next run......

Haven't been yet this year but I plan on going the 22nd, I better do at least a very low 12 even on street tires, considering the power I have now, I can spin the tires at will in third gear, LOL! Which isn't always good, traction will be my next gremlin to tackle......

Working on the 60ft is the biggest challenge. Were you WOT shifting? I suggest it, it really helps, instead of your RPM's dropping between shifts they stay up there and you stay on almost full boost ( I no longer have this option, my FX700 clutch would shred the input shaft, LOL!). Also deflate your street tires to about 25 in front and pump the back to 35 at least, or so there is no bulge where it meets the pavement. Good luck!

Nice times! With a 2.0 60', you've got 13.8X's. Did you try any different tire pressures?

No surprise on the 60ft times. When I race them at the track I usually get the jump and then get passed in 3rd gear.

Nice times man . Thats pretty damn good 60 for your first time out , these FWD cars with power are a mess to launch good .

I got to embarrass a 05 GT convertible a few weeks ago , the initial looks on these people faces is priceless .
