Going to the track Sunday
Finally going to a local track sunday. I have no clue what I will run. I'm guessing 15's, but since it's my first time, I won't really be surprised if I get a 16 the first run, heh.
Anyways, I'll update this when I'm back sunday at about 2 pm central.

I've also had this car for 4 years and my fastest motor pass ever was a 16.40, I'm telling you that you'll never see 15s on motor alone.

you suck at driving then if your in the 17's with boltons. robhole has a 2.2 with boltons and a tune and his first time at a track ran a 16.08 and that was with a 2.5 60 foot time.
his was a 5 speed not an auto but an auto with a proper tune, full boltons and a shift kit can easily be a low 16 second car.
put a 50 shot of nitrous on it, that put it into the 15's very easily

And please don't talk **** about what you don't know anything about.
Yes, my car went 17.35 @ 80mph on motor.
5 minutes later I went 14.50 @ 96mph with 2 pounds left in a 10 pound bottle, so I don't want to hear ****.
For comparison there was an SS/SC at the track with a 2.6 inch pulley and his best pass was 14.58, and a stage 2 redline was going ~15 flat

What's your track like? I don't see how any cobalt can be in the 17's without just a terrible launch or something like that. Anyways, I'm going with a buddy of mine and he's bringing his stock 3000gt. Supposed to run 15's but most places say 16's.
I'll post tomorrow, hopefully I won't get laughed at.

I also have 225/50/16's on the front, at 28 psi, so it wasn't traction either.

what dont i know hack, you came out and said ur car ran 17's with full boltons with a tune, if you feel that logical for every car to do that with simlar setups, then we will see who doesnt know what they are talking about by today, hell read the 1/4mile list sticky, theres auto in there, no 17's and less mods then you. Oh and i can throw a bottle in my car and run 14's who cares?

Hack wasn't your 17 sec run due to the fact that your car was tuned for nitrous? I thought you said in one of your threads that the ignition was retarted for nitous through Trifecta? I don't see him running anything higher than 16 sec unless he totally screws up the launch. Where the time slips at?

I would be absolutely dumbfounded to see any auto 2.2 break out of the 16's with only bolt-ons and full trim

Lol So glad i waited for a 5 speed. I couldnt hit 16 if i tried. **** with a "PERFECT" launch i should be in 14.9 range. lol. I ran 15.012 with a 2.2 or 2.3 60'.
WAIT IM WRONG! i did run pretty bad this one time. I missed second gear and just coasted to the finish, 20 second pass at 58 mph. lol.

Btw, I never got to go to the track last sunday. Had some other crap come up and had to be at work later, I'll keep this thread for when I do go. My track is not doing a test n tune for a while, but I'll post times when I go.
Maybe I'll get the coveted "cat-back exhaust" so I can break into the 15's since no one thinks I can do it, lol.
I really don't see how I wouldn't be in the 15's with an exhaust and the mods I have.

1 year later I went 16.50 @ 83 with Intake, LSJ Exhaust Mani, Catless Downpipe, Catback & B&M
1 year later I went 17.35 @ 80 with Intake, Intake Mani, Exhaust Mani, Catless DP, Catback, Solid Mounts and a tune.
All I have to say is good luck, and if you want to make a friendly wager, I will bet you that you won't make a 15 second pass.
