Has any one raced a TSI
so a friend of mine thinks her Talon TSI 50Trim is the ****. say my cobalt is POS and that i cant drive that i am a shame of all car people. i ran my base model with 18s, CAI, and duel straight pipes for a 15.5.
has anyone race on like this and what was the outcome? cause i want to shut her up.

thats what im saying her DSM was fast but not that fast had a 50 trim. ive raced a 911 non turbo with this car and kept well ahead of it. my base smoked a fwd turboed talon tho his was shitly tuned
i think her fastest time with an auto AWD DSM was like 12.9 big deal.

I've got an AWD Talon, with little more then a 16g, turbo back, and an EVO8 ECU. I'd bet it busts your **** to a solid speed(say, 0-70ish)if shes got a 50trim car, with the supporting bits, it'll be a quick dam car. 4G's make stupid easy power.

I think it will be closer than you may think. If its from a dig I'd lean towards the dsm.
Otherwise i still think the tsi will come out up top, 1st or 2nd gen? Just curious. My buddy ran in the 13s with a 1st get with a 13a, the fwds are faster but the holeshot is nasty for awds

yeah the bad thing about the dsm any modle year was the transfer case( i was in 4 cases before i finaly sold my baby)not saying this because i am a dsm fan but because i think its the truth i beleave u would get walked... from a dig or a rool i was on 50 trim with a 75 shot and i was at like 435 ... but depending without the shot i was right around 365 ish pritty safe tuning... if i wanted to push it i could have been way up there but back to the race.. .how much boost for you and for her? does she have a built transfer case yet? if not its gona go boom over and over trust me the aftermaket ones are godly expesive if she does not want to put alot of money into it but i heard are well worth the money... goodluck

A .50 trim DSM pushing 16psi will easily beat a SS/TC (I have a buddy with a 1g talon TSI). But he had all supporting mods, and can drive almost as good as me and he beat me. His car is high 11's right now and is still AWD and drives it on the street still. So, if the right mods are there and she knows how to drive, DSM all the way, however if she doesn't have the supporting mods, run her and when her **** breaks, you'll know you can beat her! lol.

That car will **** on you. I had a 92 TSI AWD all stock with:
k&n filter
no cat
fuel pump rewire
18psi
race gas
and it ran 13.1@105mph
a dsm with a 50 trim will run 11's all day long

my friend has a 2g awd eclipse with a .50 trim, he hit 12.2 up here in the mile high altitude. he recently got new tires so im sure he'll break 11's this season.

I am not stock, but I had one on the backstretch of a local track here try to get around me, he was a 50 trim, and he couldnt reel me in. Keep in mind most of these TSI are reaching their time to be put out to pasture... I sure know this one was...
I really wanted to look into one as a project car, but after looking at several beat up ones, I decided to move on. Are there fast TSI's out there, holy sht yeah.... But most around here are all hype and suffer from all sorts of issues. I have yet to run into a TSI owner who was happy with how his car was running. Kind of like my old CJ7 ... lol

Stock turbo dsms have gone 11's. They can trap just as high if not more than a stock turbo LNF cobalt. But it all depends on the owner and if they've taken the time to mod the car correctly and tune it correctly.
As a former DSM'er, I'm still in love with them. But I admit, I've came across some sad excuses for DSM's before. They aren't ALL fast.
