horrible time at track

well this was my first outting to a track ever...boy oh boy, what a difference street racing is from draging on the track. Holy hell did i ever suck...i dont have the slips on me but my best run was a 14.8 @ 97mph. i lowered the pressure in the tires to 20lbs and still nothing. g-dammit i suck! i went with 2 other cobalts and one of them ran a 14.42 @ 99mph. only mod he has is the airbox mod so congrats to him, bah to me!

yea man its not as easy as it looks. i went to englishtown friday and first run out i cut a 14.015, so close to a damn 13 i was hating it. you just gotta keep practicing, and dont lower your air pressure to much. did you go to e-town or island drag, i think next week i'm gonna go to island drag just to try to get some launch practices in.

Get the crap off your tires as best as you can. I have a pair of knobby gloves I use to get all the rock and grit off the tires in the lanes and I have a buddy get the big stuff off right before I do my burnout. THe rest gets cleaned off by the pre-burn bunnyhop.

Oh and don't use the waterbox if your on street tires. All that does is **** of people using a real tire. Water + Slick = BAD!

Hmm your MPH is good, you must be spinning going into second as well as most of first gear, I'm sure you could take half a second off that time with a good launch.
