Huge fail incoming
Just FYI guys, the ignition cylinder recall will fix your problems forever. The part installed is a different tumbler/cylinder design completely and eliminates the cause of the key sticking in ignition issue. I did my recall the day after it came out from GM.
Hmm this is pathetic. Made 2 passes and my traps are lower than stock turbo. Trapping 113 in 1/4 and 90 in the 1/8.... I figured more on the big end but i dunno.
Launching is certainly different on this setup. I need some seat time on the build but so far it sucks even thouhh the car feels strong on the street

No. I am being a bit conservative on the stock transmission with the Exedy hyper single attached to it. The way it engages will blow something up.
I know i trapped higher than this on stock turbo.
Here are my thoughts:
#1: I need to learn to drive the big turbo setup. I out 60' a modded WRX and because the car just searches for 7400 (still havent done my valve springs) i only sit in 1st for as long as i feel comfortable. On my shift to 2nd the car falls out of power and i give up like 4-5 cars on the WRX yet i walk him down in 3rd and put another 5 cars on him (he trapped 107).
I have some trouble pedaling the car through 1st and 2nd as i get a weird stutter/flutter when i start half throttle or on/off throttle. Don't know if it's something with the BOV or the manual boost control, but it's a huge issue for me as well. If i can't walk it out it makes my life hard. I also see flutter/surge at low RPMs, and low RPMS low boost only (like under 3psi).
I know what people will say about my shifting earlier and being not aggressive but I wasnt trying to go for broke last night. I know a few mph are left in the car from my end.
#2: I need to datalog and spend time with the car. Before the trip to the track i literally have about 15-20 minutes driving the setup. It seems to pull hard on the street, i mean it feels like the engine wants to pull itself from the front of the car and keep on going.
However, butt dynos lie. I do know it rips the tires like it never has before, even with 19psi in the tires. My stock turbo could not destroy the tires the way this does.
Time will tell, we all know the turbo is capable of a lot more so ill just have to get the car and myself dialed in. Driving this is nothing like the stock K04, and i need to remember that.

He'l it's a completely different way of driving. You can actually leave at like 4000 rpm's in first and ride the clutch. At least with my car you can. It won't really spin till like 5k and up in first. Just have to practice. My first run on street tires was a 13.1 with a trap of like 124 same boost that I trapped 132 on street tires the same day and notched away at a 12.19. I know I make more power but that just shows what it takes to drive a big turbo car good.

Those things and figuring out my half throttle issues will allow me to apply a little more skill into the mix. It sucks not being able to pedal the car
Yes lol more than 95% of this forum. Read above that I was slower thN on stock turbo.
