i need some take off tips

im goin to the drag strip next week and i cant seem to get my take off right. i either almost stall out or get a hell of alot of wheel spin. i am trifecta tuned, would it help to have the tune off to start with and then turn it on in 2nd or 3rd gear?????

Learn to feather the pedals a bit more, and don't torch the clutch

put the e brake up, get yourself into first and feather the throttle so that youre in gear but not moving. lights turn green, let go of the e brake, go to town >

^^no idea what that means

well i'm assuming your an ss/sc otherwise you probably wouldn't have launch problems.

the biggest tip i've heard is to burn that clutch a little bit, probably till about 10 mph. so you're gonna be heavy on the gas until you're off the clutch, and when you are off the clutch that's when you will really mash it. either that or just launch howeve ryou can but really you can't floor it till you're going 15-30 mph probably. practice makes perfect. i gotta practice more

I wouldn't recommend playing with the parking brake while trying to launch it's just one more thing to think about and seems like a bad idea. Another member said (can't remember who) to take off as if you were on a steep hill. I did this and my launches progressively got better. Once you foot is off the clutch ease into the throttle through first so you don't spin. Practice on the street and see how quickly you can accelerate in first without spinning the tires. Best of Luck.
