Interceptor Vs Track Clock
Hello,
I remember a while ago some one asked about how close the interceptor is to the track.
Well today was IFO so I descided to give it a shot. I did'nt spin the tires much just a bit
of a chip at launch. So here are the results
1/4 Times
Track Clock = 14.519 @ 100.1 MPH
Interceptor = 14.01 @ 108 MPH
1/8 Times
Track Clock 9.560 @ 76.26 MPH
Interceptor = 9.21 @ 82 MPH
Also Interceptor said I did 0 - 60 MPH in 5.77 Seconds
That was my best run of the day. Better then last year. My Clutch held up really good, but I think I'm loosing my 1-2 syncro. Shifting into second gear from first was abit challanging at times. I noticed this going to work a week or so ago also. I'll have to pay more attention, see if double clutching helps, or rev matching or what not.
If my syncro is going... How expensive is that repair?

Well if ur synchro is going i think that means byebye trasmission.
Be sure ur cable clamp is holding up good by taking up ur shiftboot. The shifter should be going pretty much straight up and down and rough/tough shifts can be due to poor adjustment in the shifter cable.
Ive had times where its tough to get into 2nd esp. When going hard at it. But my trans is fine.
Double clutching is what i do for downshifts usually but its not needed or recommended for synchro transes. Its what the sy.chro is there for actualy, to shift easier. Thats why if u just clutch it for a downshift with no revmatching you dont feel much of a jerk.

So how do I check/adjust this?

Reaction time is just the time from the last light til your car moves and breaks the timing beam to start the 1/4 timer. You could sit there for a minute or hour then launch and still run a 14 sec 1/4 mile.
