Launch tips w KY stage 3

So lets talk best way off the line (on the street and track). Im only on GMS1 and I tried a low RPM hop off and just spun (stock tires 30% tread), tried a 2500 rpm or so dont really remember quick slip and the clutch hated it because its a puck clutch. Pedal went soft for like 10 minutes and scared me pretty good, fine now though. I lost to a 04 Mustang GT pretty much stock few bolt ons and i think gears. He pulled 2-3 cars off the launch (think he was on 315 wides) I started pulled shifting into 3rd but ran out of road. Pulled on him from a 2nd gear roll about 1 car length to mid 3rd gear. Need to work on my launch for sure. (GMS1 HHR all bolt ons and ttr upper mount).

Now your first remarks are upgrade your tires obviously because if once im hptuned it will be worse. Regardless of the tune/tires assuming your making some power with an LNF and have this clutch, how do you launch it?

Upgrade your tires
I dont have a kys3 but i have launched the car on skreet tires enough times and slipping the clutch seems to work best, but since thats not gonna happen for you, new tires and your choice of suspension aids to keep the weight from transferring backward

x2 since you cant slip it you need better tires and unprep'd surface a lower rpm, on a prep'd surface you can get away with a higher rpm since the tires will grip better. Then practice practice practice, I still don't have my track launch down and I can slip the clutch

You will be hard pressed to get any launch at all with fwd on that puck clutch unless you go with slicks. I have drag radials and slip the clutch and can still light the tires at anything above 2,500 slipping the clutch. With positive engagement you will have the best results going with slicks and launching above 3,800. You can't do it at 2,000 or you will probably kill the motor off the line. Your setup will be challenging. I just went to the track last night myself but I'm still on the stock clutch.

Listen to how quick the stang hits 2nd gear and visibly see how long it takes me to get to second gear! Driver mod and tires please! Should I be short shifting first gear to try and avoid wheel spin?

and he just had to point the go pro backwards....Shame he removed it right after and didn't catch when we race from 30 mph and ended with 1/2 a car length or so. Keep in mind 20psi HHR tune not HPT and he had bolt ons and gears. Would have pulled him big time on the highway and WAAY more if on a real tune.

Here's the thing you will always feel helpless in first, its a high ratio and usually limited boost so down on power too. Get some better tires work on the 60ft and hell probably still leave you at the line but come second you should start to come around him.
