It works fine on the street i've done it 3 times. Once on the 50 trim and twice with the 57mm turbonetics. 7k rev limit tap if off limiter about ten times side-step it a bit and smoke the tires to 80. What's all the fuss about? lol

I'd love to try it cause I was thinking it too. My car is put up for the winter or I would give it a shot with the new go pro.. and first thru second for me... **** man.. first just egnites the tires and i immedietly slam second then when second hits they break loose again and i feather the gas untill traction is caught again quickly and try not to slip the tires loose again.. but then nls into third at around 6600.... freight train mode(:

If so is there any strain on say clutch, trans, etc. I'm assuming yes but to what extent?

Lastly is it a technique worth mastering or should I just get used to launching in first
you dont drive an aerial atom so dont bother trying to launch in second

so let me get this straight....

youve done it a total 3 times with two different turbos..... I take it the second turbo is a little more durable than the first? Hmmmm.....

Now that I think about it probably launched in 2nd on that 57mm 4 or 5 times.

Just did this the other night with the auto swap. It was completely by accident but I let it go at about ten pounds and smoked the tires to 80. Half way through i realized my car never shifted and it just did that in 2nd gear. I was throughly impressed

I actually read that there's a way to get the most out of a launch from first to second gear. What I read was it's best to shift early rather than just launching in second. Basically what it said was based on HP and car, it's probably better to launch a car in first and shift earlier rather than waiting until red line.

So say in my situation it'll be better to launch and then shift into second say at 4k RPMs.

I don't know how to launch so it doesn't matter.

yes this makes sense and is much better for the tranny than launching in second

I can't do 1st to second in my car worth ****. The ratios seem so far apart.

Get slicks. That will solve a lot of your problems.

Then axels and perhaps tranny depending on clutch

your axles and trans will prefer slicks over street tires or a drag radial. the clutch, not so much.

I see. I'm just under the impression that slicks and drag radials snap axels and if you have a KY Clutch (stage 3) or something as strong it can ruin trans. Much like launching I have no expertise on the subject.

I only have 3rd hand experience. I don't know the whole story either, but 2 Colorado LNFs broke their axels at the track using these tires.
