So i locked up a race for next season for a little cash. Its against a 02 Z06 with intake and exhaust. I would assume it would run in the 11.5 range if not a tad lower.

what hp are you expecting? If you can get off the line u might be close to him but i dont think you will take him.

 

Should be sitting around 400-450 and i will be on slicks as well. Is the 02 z06 not a 12.5 car stock?

 

Id suggest going the chain and football mod for traction. It all depends on your launch if Youl take him it not. If u can launch even with him or basically as long as he's not outlaunching u like crazy it should be cake.

 

Yeah have only been on the slicks a few times but also on the M62 setup. Was launching at 4k and hooking realling hard with no tire spin and pulling 1.9. Would expect 1.7 to 1.8 with a little higher launch.

 

If he is telling the truth about his mods you will win if you can drive your car with all the extra power you have but slicks will help a ton. If he is running H/C he will destroy you lol..

 

if you pull ATLEAST another 1.9 id say you would get him. i want a video though haha

Z06's are fast but a c5 z06 with intake and exhaust only isn't far from a stock one.

 

Exactly but if he has head/cam thats a whole different beast lol. If he's on slicks he could be cutting 1.4 60fts if he can drive so good luck getting him out of the hole

Will also have a few passes down the track on her before i run the vette. Need to see where it sits here once its tuned by nick with meth.

Going up in a few days to get going on this.

 

Guess we will have to wait and see. Will have a few track passes on the new setup before we run. So i guess time will tell.

 

Not knocking your mods at all...but its sad that a c5 z06 can run faster then a cobalt with those mods.

i have seen at least 10 of these in different years running no better than a 11.2 at the track, average I saw is 11.5 in the last 2 years.

I would certaintly hope my car would run with it on the stock motor and my boost turned up. Currently on 6psi on the EFR and need about 20 more psi.

I have a fully built head sitting downstairs just waiting to go on. This will be put on in Feb and before the race. It will be retuned again by nick and will be ready for a few track passes. Then its on for the race. There will be plenty of people filming from all angles and i will shoot from my gopro from my hood. We are locking it down for around 500-1k.

Also have the 80's, boost reference system, MBC to go on here with nick in a few days. Hopefully we can get meth running as well but might end up with just a 93 tune with the boost up.

 

Anyone else want to put in their two cents?

If your sure that the z06 only has intake+exhaust then you you should take it, at best I think it could run very high 11's. But if he has the confidence to throw 1g down on a race I would think he isn't that stupid. He could easily have a strong heads+small cam combo, which you wouldnt be able to tell, but then run 10's. I guess it's up to your judge of character as to if hes lying about his setup or not. If he isn't lying I definitely think you have him. But either way, best of luck!
