M62 LSJ on E85 at the track

This isn't my car, but I wanted to post this. The car belongs to Zach Davies in Iowa, he is SPDDMN36's brother, but I don't know if he is ever on here. I tuned it so I thought it gave me the rights to post it for him And it has been slow in this section lately.

The car is an 06 LSJ Cobalt SS

Intake, header, downpipe, exhaust, LS4 TB, 60# injectors, 2.7" pulley on E85. He was on some 26" drag radials. If he can get the 60' down a bit he will be into the 12's without trouble, but I thought the runs were pretty decent and consistent.

Best time was 13.13 @110.15 mph. He is car 9626

He will easily be in the 12's with practice. His 60' times are considered good on streets.

I thought it did pretty well for a basic stock longblock/stock unported blower setup with just a 2.0 60'

I don't believe he has ever dyno'd the car. And I'm not sure what the other car was since this took place a few states away from me lol.

I am taking my stock blower 07 to the track this weekend to see what I can muster up. Its going to be cold out and the track isn't the usually very prepped since its a low traffic track, but it should be fun.

Nice, good to see more cornfed m62s. I'm shooting for 12.999999 this year, ran 13.2 @108-109 on a 2.85 with a 2.1-2.2 60 foot switched to a 2.7 but the missed out on the good weather, once it gets back down to the 60s and air dries out a little i hope the 2.7 and a lower 60 will get me there.

how much timing are you running in the mid range the 8th mph seems a little low compared to 1/4 trap.

It is running 24* at 4k ramping to 27* by 6700 rpms.

I ran this weekend too on my M62 setup, but I'll make a separate thread for that. Times were half decent for the conditions, but trap was super low. Everyone was complaining about running slow MPH that day, and I don't think a little 15mph head wind would make that big of difference! Still managed a 13.0 @106.5 with a 1.96 60' on 26" cheater slicks I guess.

iv been running 22@ 4k ramping to 24 @6 then 24 flat out to 7k, maybe a few more degrees up top is what i need to get the trap up a few more mph.

Don't plateau your timing table in the high rpms. After cylinder pressure has peaked and starts to fall is when you want to be the most aggressive with the ramp, not flatten it

His boost is a 60%-100% slope from 4-8k. Mine is 100% since I had confidence in the track on the cheater slicks. I should know better than you assume they prepped it well I have a right foot for that anyways.

I ran 27.5* on my TVS with a 2.6" up top. But the car was still making power with that timing on the dyno. Every car and setup is slightly different. Not even 100% sure its necessary on an M62, but haven't gotten to put an M62 car on a dyno when I have been around to compare.

My mid range is lower...only 18* at 4k

But then again not sure that I want to touch it because nitrous will be going on.

Whats the CR of the 2.2? That plays a part as well. I'd say leave it if nitrous is going on.
