although i launch high because my slicks are too tall which = bog which = break.
On slicks I should have been more specific. In stock trim there are very few cars that won't bog/spin with a 5K launch.

Of course, this all depends on the driver as well. More room for error, obviously.

yea but maybe thats what the launch control prevents with a 5000k launch?

^As far as drag racing is concerned, looks like SS/T's and Stage 2 SC's are a solid wash ...

Good times never the less. I have hit 2.1 60fts with my SS/SC at Cayuga on a hot Sat. during the day with my stock pirellis and also my RT615 Falken's. I ran a 13.610@103mph with STG 1/Fujita intake/3.0" ZZP Pulley/Muffler couple years ago. I run 13.5's at 106mph without the meth on a 2.7/60lbs injectors/Mase Tune. Haven't been too the track since I got the STG 4 Bully Clutch installed. You just gotta play with your launch and you should get 2.1 60fts but 2.0's are imposible at Cayuga on street tires with the Cobalt.

Didn't hatrickstu get a 13.3 w/ Stage 2 and drags? Or am i out of the loop on that one?

Anyway, why do none of your TC guys' times show up on the official 1/4 mile thread? Get them on there so we can see how these cars are doing more easily.

I'd be very interested to see what an SS/TC could do with drags

Yeah, but I think stu is the new Tofu. How they cut better times than people with twice the mods they have, I will never understand. All I know is they should start giving driving lessons.

I think in the vids of Hahns SS/TC you can hear him using launch control. It's not bad if you just let the clutch out easy instead of dumping it.
Then the key is knowing where the clutch grabs.

i would think launch control, after a good burnout on a hot day, would be able to hook up... i only used mine once and got one hell of a burnout and shifted to 2nd early..., but its still cold here in PA... ive only had mine for 3 weeks so once i get some nice hot roads i'll try it agian... the drag strip should have some good grip on a hot day... more than a regular road anyway... i'm sure the launch control isnt COMPLETELY useless...

Has anyone tried lightening there car but running stock power still..? i wonder if you shaved a couple hundred pounds if that makes a difference.... Like only 1/4 tank, racing seats, different wheel sstock tires... maybe even drag racing with no spoiler... Even a 150-160lb driver over a 200+ driver... might help with the launch... the spare tire isnt helping your times either..... maybe thats the trick to the 13.7-.9 times. Small differences like that have to make some kind of difference.... Just a thought.

also... does it even help with gas octane better than 91..? here in PA theres only 87 89 and 93.... SOMETIMES you'll see a sunoco(i think thats how its spelled) with 87 89 91 93 selection... but i think it only helps with detonation in tuned cars..?

First off, this thread is like 7 months old, LOL. Second of all, there are people who have ran 13.5-13.6 stock in their SS/TC with nothing done to it. Our cars have a turbo, which it states we should run premium gas anyways, so it's nothing but 93 octane for me.
