My weight reduction
My weight reduction
I already know their is a how to on weight reduction, this will be a continuation over the summer, im going to try to get my car as light as possible, and past normal weight reduction for the track. then im going to spend the rest of winter trying to remember how to put it back together.
i used a regular home scale, it would not register under 3lbs so i guestimated. (update-stand on scale weigh myself with then without stuff thats under 3lbs)
Rear seat Top Left 7.4 lbs
rear seat top right 9.6 lbs
bottom seat 10.8 lbs
trunk side wall and trunk carpet 6.2 lbs
miscellaneous plastic bolts and trim pieces (not including shifting area) 7 lbs
passenger seat 42 lbs
spare tire jack and wrench 5.8 lbs
(i no longer have the stock subwoofer or spare tire so i used other info)
stock subwoofer 13 lbs
spare tire 28 lbs
UPDATED:
glove box with manual and random crap 4.8 lbs
rear head rests 3.6 lbs
plastic paneling front of shifter area 2.4 lbs
cup holder filled with bolts and plastic bolts 2 lbs
plastic floor rails and center shifter console 4 lbs
rear a-pillars 2.2 lbs
Grand total to date: 165.6 lbs of weight reduction

carpets, door panels, rear deck, the headrest on them, the speakers, all the interior pieces, for the actual racing you could remove the headlights, drain the washer fluid, not have a full tank of gas
and if you could safely remove the rear seatbelt assemblies that would probably take out another 25 lbs.
