New P.B. 13.60 @ 105.7 Traction Bars FTW

Just got back from Stanton and ran a new personal best. My previous best was 13.96 @ 103.9 with a 2.24 60'

Video w/ edit

13.60 run w/o edit

Only new mods for this trip were the Bwoody full race traction bars. Got my 60' down to 2.10 ,so I was pretty happy with that, but I was still spinning too much, so hopefully 2.0 is attainable before I start running DR's.

My mods are listed on motortopia and vbGarage, not too bad for only GM stg 2 w/ the 2.8", intake, and traction mods. Exhaust is my next big step, so I think sub 13.5 times are def. within reach on the 2.8" pulley.

Sorry, just happy about the times, I'll shup up now, lol

Thanks for reading

Those are great times. What changed to increase your mph?
Air temp/conditions?
Impressive, the bars must work pretty good.
Nice mods list!!!
No exhaust yet?

Thanks man, they def. do help getting off the line. I think I can get dialed in a bit better and hit a 2.0 on the stock Pirellis

It might have been a touch cooler, but I think it's mostly from the better 60', I've actually trapped faster before. I hit 105.9 once. But on tonight's run I got the least amount of spin ever, so I had more speed built up at the 1/8th and then the trap

EDIT: I have no clue what happened to the car beside me. It was a late 90's Z28, I dunno if he broke something or spun out and then coasted or what.

Most the cars running tonight were 10 sec and less trailor queens.

I have video of all of my runs, and one of a snowmobile running 9's, lol

Wow, this may convince me to buy their traction bars. Very nice times especially that 60 foot. Were they pretty consistant 60 foot times throughout or was it just that one run?

Also, wtf was in the other lane, a minivan?

Thanks man, and read my edit, it was a Camaro, lol.

Yeah my 60's were fairly consistant, 2.107, 2.129 (13.7 @105.59), and my worst was a 2.20 (13.9@ 104.9), shitty launch, spun almost all of 1st

I was running the stock Pirelli's @ 25 psi

Very nice. Get a nice custom exhaust, it will help a fair bit.
From what I have seen the gmpp is an improvement, but leaves room for improvement.
Good luck, personal best's are so gratifying.
When are you going again?

Yeah Exhaust, or at least header/DP are next on my wish list. But I wan't a long tube, or at least a 4-2-1, so I'm gonna wait and see what the finished Clear Image set-up looks like.

Dunno when I'll get back again. I'm starting a new job tommorow and the hours will probably be killer, so I had to get out tonight incase I can't again soon.

But seeing that the #10 spot on the official list is a 13.59 with a slower trap, I'm kicking myself for not taking one more pass before I left, lol

You guys should really get ahold of SixSigma Race Engineering. They built a custom header for me, and I saw great gains over my already good dcrh. 10whp peak, and 20whp midrange on my n/a 2.0L.
Your car puts out more power than mine, the gains should warrant the cost.
The headers are about 1200, but are worth every penny. All they would need is a donor car if they were into doing th cobalt.

lol, I just noticed that. All my other slips say the 3rd too. I guess Stanton needs to update their calendar

I'm from the future bitches.

EDIT: I just checked my slips from the Michigan Grudge Match a couple weeks ago at Stanton on Saturday the 21st of April, and they all read the 22nd, lol

Physically, not really,

Mentally, hells yeah. Not having that constant fear of breaking an axle is a huge relief when you're sitting at the line.

And believe me, I know, I blew a stock axle to hell, that feeling sucks

13.60 Pass

Finally got the cable I needed, here's the vid. And I don't wanna hear it about the gay music, it's what they were playing at Stanton, and I wanted to keep the rest of the audio for the run. If you listen close, you can hear a guy on the rail go "holy ****" when I go by, 4 cylinders get no respect when every other car their was in the 10's, lol

If anyone knows how to link the vids with the thumbnail pic, lemme know

Here's that 9 sec snowmobile

I also have a vid of me running a 13.7 against a Big ass 4x4 that ran a 13.2
It was my first run of the day, so I though I was running slow as hell til I got the slip and saw what that guy ran, lol. I'll post that one up later when I can find time

Thanks man, I love the new Intense CABs, those and the traction bars made a huuuge dif. I actually need to PM you about the old CABs.

^^^That sounds like my first few track trips though, no traction whatsoever. Do you drop your tire pressure? I find that I am benefitting alot from going down to ~24-25 psi. Next time I might try them a touch lower, but anything above 26 and I just spin like crazy.

I want to try and cut as close to 2.0 60' as possible before going to DR's

P.S. check out the vid I just put up of that snowmobile,,, it's a trip

^^^That'll do it. I actually did that once, and spun soooo bad my 60' was a shameful 3..xx, lol. Then I blew my axle on the next pass after that, twas a bad day.

This season is off to a much better start, lol.

I didn't get a chance to check out the snowmobile too closely, but they trailored two of them up there and they were both in the 9's. I can't even imagine doing 140+ on a sled,,, insanity
