New personal best

I did a new best for the sunflower last week, a 15.51@90.2 mph!

I'm quite impressed, not so much by the et, but by the speed; not bad for a basically stock 2.4(my extensive mods list consists of an intake, and removed tuner tube).

that was done at around 24degrees c; around 1200ft elevation and with full interior and 1/4 tank of gas.

this sunday I'm going to the track again, this time I'm stripping the interior somewhat(spare, jack, seats), having a nearly empty tank, and increasing rear tire pressure/decreasing front. it should also be cooler. I'll post the slip this time.

wish me luck!

On an 1/8 mile track I did 10.4 at 66 miles an hour, that's completely stock with an automatic transmission, just jumping on the gas when the light turned green...man I got in a lot of trouble for taking my brand new truck to the track...and the excuse "well at least I wasn't doing it on the road" doesn't help

5spd(of course, will never own anything else), 106,000km's(about 66k miles)

well, I didn't exactly make it to the track today, due to massive hangover(damn tequila!) the next meet is in 2 weeks, so I'll be there then.

it should be a bit better then, as the temp should be a fair bit cooler, the track's elevation is about 50feet(no joke), and I'll be lightening up the car a bit. I'm also considering unhooking my alternator belt to free up some power.

14.8? what did you have done to it? I've heard of many people breaking 14's with basic boltons, but all my friends are poor, so we can't do much!

never mind, I saw your mods in another thread.... I'm skeptical, but I'll have to take your word on it.

I'd be content if I were you; 15.3 is excellent from a 2200!

excellent job!

Which engine are you swapping to Jeff, the 2.4 TC or Eco?

you might want to think about a 3400 also. i dont know about 3rd gens but in a 2nd gen its by far an easier swap (pretty much only a front mount bracket) and you get pretty much the same performance.

a 3400 would be an easier swap but i want the L67 since its already built to take the boost plus who wouldnt want to have more displacement
