Not my Cobalt, but ran my Camaro at the track for first time ever... 12.15 @ 116

This is the first time I'd taken my Camaro to the track and the first time every racing a stick from a dig. I've done plenty of roll racing with it, but launching a stick at the track is a whole another world.

Anyways, I don't think I did too terribly bad for my first time EVER. I was taking my time between shifts, definitely can get faster there. Plus I need to heat the tires up a bit more so I don't blast the tires all the way through 1st gear. If I can do these two things, I think it's got an 11.7 in it.

Anyways, it's a '91 Z28 convertible, race weight with me in it is 3,810 lbs so it's a beached whale. It has a relatively mild 6.0L LSx swap with a T56. It has forged internals but I stayed with stockish cubes but went with a pretty nasty cam. It has longtube headers with an offroad 3" y pipe, LS6 intake, stock throttle body and MAF, the rear is a custom Ford 8.8" with Moser axles and 4.10 gears....full suspension from tubular k member all the way back to the adjustable lower control arms.

My run starts at 0:35

Whatcha think?

sounded like you launched pretty damn well honestly. didn't seem like too much spin. get rid of those heavy ass wheels, get a slick and drive it the way you did and it'll go 11s

Yea it wasn't chirping or anything but i could feel the lack of traction just about all the way until I had to let out and shift into 2nd, which is why it sounded like 2nd gear took so long to get into.

I'm on bald Mickey Thompson DR's at the moment.

Not bad at all man! Its been a while since I read your build thread. But what compression are you at?

Definitely agree more traction and you could pull a good 11 second pass!

and Nicks car is definitely a 91 Z

I am not understanding your logic here. Did you even watch the video or are you just assuming thay since my time and trap speed were pretty good it cant be a thirdgen? It's called an engine swap...

Rich, CR is 10.6:1 with stock 6.0L truck heads. I want go get some AFR's or ported LS6 heads and the CR shoulf go up a bit plus they flow much better.

I have two sets of subframe connectors. The inner set are made by Alston Racing amd the outter set is Spohn.

unless of course if he thought your camaro was the first one. Nice run! I also thought you launched pretty good. Can't be to mad with a 1.8 60ft.

Look up some LS3 heads from texas speed. Since your a 6.0L they should fit fine. And they have very nice flow #'s!

I guess...although it says in the first post my run starts at 0:35, plus my signature also says '91 Z28.

LS3 heads have different ports so you'd have to go with an LS3 style intake. I am probably just going to go with a FAST 92/92 and some AFR's or stage 2 or 3 243 heads from Texas Speed.

If you haven't ordered the fast yet just order the fast102 and the ls3 heads won't cost anymore and it should scream!
