Now taking bets
Taking my GA to the track tonight. Do you think it will beat my last car? (only mods are 10.3mm wires and 3 piece chrome intake from ebay)
07 Cobalt 4dr 2.4L "SS" (thats the 173hp NA Ecotec) 4 speed automatic
It ran 16.7@80mph---NOT corrected for density altitude!! (DA) I think only a few might know what that means...
It sure "feels" quicker--but I like to prove things. Based on previous ecp with wifes 2000 Grand Am GT (back in 2001) I am confident I will win by a small margin.
For thos not in the know---the Grand Am has a 3400 V6 whick kaes 170hp and 200lbs TQ. Just a bit over 200lbs heavier.
My guess is 16.4@82mph (UNCORREDTED)

nope--as I thought...the Cobalt is slower. I have to directly compare the slips and calculate the DA for the Cobalt run--just to fairly compare.
But 0.3 and 5mph faster then I ever ran in the Cobalt. The 3400 is kinda pucnhy and likes to rev..the Cobalt felt like an anchor was tied to the motor.
16.4@85mph uncorrected
Very happy., I should mention that I do have a CAI on the GA. This undoubltedly added something to my victory.
